Coloring Book Inspired card featuring Little Blue Button Stamps!!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend! Let's get this week started off right with a card I made featuring the "Painter," image from the Little Blue Button Stamps shop! This image is part of the shop's new releases for this month, There's plenty of new images to see in the LBBS shop, so please make sure to head over there to check it out.
                                                      
                                         Now here's a pic of the card I made using the image:

 

The card measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/2," and uses a sheet of white card stock as the base. For the card layer, I adhered a sheet of patterned paper from a Recollections, "All Occasions," 12' x 12" paper pad, trimming it down to 4 1/4" x 6 1/4". I then set the card aside to work on the image.

I printed the image on white card stock and drew in a background scene and some paint splatters.I wanted to give the background a coloring book feel with the image adding color to her world.

Once I had everything penciled in, I used my fine tip, black marker to darken the lines.

Next, it was time to color everything in using my alcohol markers.

Here's a rundown of the colors I used:

-Background-

-Sky- B12, C01, C02

-Tree & grass- E74, E79, G94, G99

-Main Image-

-Skin- E00, E11, R20

-Hair- E13, E15, E29, RV19, RV55

-Outfit- Y00, Y13, Y15, R14, R17, R27, E94, E99,  C01, C02

-Paint brushes- C06, C08, Gold gel pen

For the paint splatters on her dress, I filled them using the same colors I used in the background. I used my Glossy Accents to make the splatters pop. Next, I trimmed the image panel down to 3 7/8" x 6". Then, I drew in a 1/8" border around the image and filled it in using my 100 Black Copic marker. I adhered the panel to the card base using pop dots.

To complete the card, I stamped a sentiment, "Every possibility begins with the courage to imagine..." from the Tim Holtz Alterations, "Possibilities," stamp set.

This is an awesome set because it includes a set of dies to go along with the stamps. So, once I had the sentiment stamped out, I was able to use my Cuttlebug to die cut it as well.

 And ta-da! Card complete!

"Thinking of You Card" plus a New Challenge!!

Hey everyone, happy Sunday to you all! I hope your day is off to a good start! For today's post, I have a card I created for the newest challenge over at the Glitter N' Sparkle Challenge blog.

The theme for this week is: Sun, Moon, & Stars (Space).

Now, the card I'm featuring today uses the "Shabby Chic Birdhouse" image from Beccy's Place.

This is a wonderful image to color, and I had fun altering it to fit the theme.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

 

First, I printed out the birdhouse image twice on a sheet of white card stock. I drew in a few extra details, like the sun, moon and stars image across the front and the robin sitting on top. I penciled everything in and darkened the lines using my fine tip black marker. Once I achieved the look I was going for, I then went in with my alcohol markers.

Here's a rundown of the colors I used:

-Birdhouse- E70, E74, E99, E29, E79

-Roses, leaves & ribbon- RV000, RV63, RV55, G94, G99, B00, B12

-Robin- E94, E99, C01, C02, C03, C04, C06

-Sun, Moon & Stars- Y15, Y18, E99, B00, B14, V25, Light & Dark Blue gel pen, Orange gel pen

 

With all the image colored in, I added a few highlights to  the robin, birdhouse, and ribbon using my white gel pen. Next, I fussy cut the image out and set it aside to work on the background.

I used the second printout of the image as a panel, trimming it down to 3 7/8" x 6 1/2," and using my Distress Ink in "Broken China," to add color to the background. I started off by concentrating the color along the bottom and softening it as I worked my way up. Once I was satisfied with the color, I adhered the colored in image on top of the background. Next, I added some clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to add interest. I went around the edges of the panel adding dash lines with my white gel pen. 

For the card base, I trimmed a sheet of white card stock to 5 3/4" x 7 3/8" and added another layer of white card stock on top. For the card layer, I used a Martha Stewart "Lace Doily" border punch. Next, I adhered the image panel to the card layer. To finish the card off, I stamped the sentiment, "You're never more than a thought away," and added a few iridescent sequins.

And voila! Card complete!

"Remember the Now" Mixed Media Tag: Jiggery Makery DT Project!!

Hey everyone, happy Tuesday to you all! For today's post, I'm sharing a mixed media tag I made as part of the Jiggery Makery design team. It features Adele's charming "Denise," image from her shop.

              For my tag, I used a 2 5/8" x 5 1/4" manila tag, and painted a coat of gesso over the top. Once dry, I painted on a thin layer of Ranger's Multi- Matte Medium. I tore a few pieces of some patterned tissue paper I made and adhered it to the tag. I then added color using my Distress Paints in "Seedless Preserves" and "Shabby Shutters".

                 To add interest to the tag, I stamped a bird and vine from a Prima stamp set. Next, I set it aside to work on the images. I used my alcohol markers to color them in, and here's a rundown of the colors I used:
                                                                      Main Image:
                                                              -Skin- E00, E11,  R20
                                                              -Hair- E15, E18, E79
                                                        -Dress- 0,  C01, RV52, RV55
                                                 -Accessories- E70, E74, RV000, RV52

For the flowers, I used the " Black Eyed Susans," flower image from the Two Paper Divas "Seed Packet Accessories #2".

I added a few highlights to the images using my white gel pen and fussy cut them. Next, I arranged where I wanted the images to go and used my Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the tag. I then added shading to the tag and image using my Recollections Dark Brown water color marker.

To create the sentiment on the tag, I used my Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs "Special Delivery," set. I added the sentiment to scrap pieces of  white card stock, cut them apart, and adhered them to the tag.
It reads: "Remember the now, make it count and embrace the journey". To finish it off the tag, I tied a few strands of jute cording at the top.

                                                             And ta-da! Tag complete!

"Beauty" Steampunk Inspired Card!!

Hey everyone, I'm back with another great challenge from the Glitter N' Sparkle Challenge blog! The theme for this week's challenge is: " Use a Punch and/or Die." Please make sure to head over to the GNS blog to play along!

Here's a pic of the card I created using the "Steampunk Tasha" image from Digital Delights:

 

The card measures 4 7/8" x 6 1/8," and uses a sheet of patterned paper from a Tim Holtz "Menagerie" 8" x 8" paper pad.  For the card layer, I used a sheet of aluminum foil that I adhered to a sheet of white card stock. I trimmed it down to 4 1/4" x 5 3/4," and ran it through my Tim Holtz Idealogy embossing folder. I used gold gel paint to color the foil and my Glimmer Mist in "Craft," to deepen the color further and give it a metallic look. Next, I used my tape runner to adhere it to the card base.

For the image, I used my alcohol markers to color her in, and here's a rundown of the colors I used:

-Skin- E00, E11, E13, R20

-Hair- E13, E15, E18, Y00, Y13, Y18

-Steampunk Outfit- E97, E99, E29, E70, E74, gold metallic marker

 

I brushed Glossy Accents over the "faux" metallic parts that I colored in using my E97, E99, & E29 Copic markers.

I added some ground below the image using my C01 & C03 markers.

Next, I added some shading around the image using my B00 & 0 colorless blender Copic markers.I trimmed the image panel down to 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" and stamped gears in the corners using a Stampendous clear stamp set. I added a few brads to the centers of the gears and attached it to the card base using pop dots.

To finish the card off, I added a few wood veneer gears that I colored with my Glimmer Mist and embellished with sequins.

Finally, I used vintage alphabet buttons to create the sentiment, "Beauty."

And ta-da! Card complete!

"Let's Fly Away" Card: LBBS DT Project!!

Hey everyone, happy Sunday to you all! I hope you are having a relaxing day! Today marks the newest releases for this month from the Little Blue Button Stamps shop. Olga has outdone herself with these wonderful images, so please make sure to head over to the store to check them out! For today's post, I have a card I created using the "Travel Digi Stamp".

The card measures 5 1/2" x 6 1/2," and uses a sheet of card stock as the base.

For the image, I wanted to add a cool background that would tie in the travel theme. After a bit of thought, I decided that re-creating an airport scene would be perfect for the backdrop. So, I headed to Google images and found a picture that I could draw to fit the image. I penciled in the airplane, windows, and flooring. Next, I darkened the lines using my fine tip black marker. I then colored everything in using my alcohol markers.

Here's a rundown of the colors I used:

Background:

- Sky- B00, B12

-Airplane- C0, C01, C02, C03, C04, C05, C06, C07, G46, G28

-Window Frame- C03, C04

-Flooring- C01, C03

Main Image:

-Skin- E00, E11, R20

-Hair- E13, E15, E18, E70, E74, E79

-Clothing- B00, B12, RV000, RV14, B12, B14, E70, E74, C06, C08

-Suitcase- G46, G28

 

I added highlights to the image using my white gel pen. Next, I trimmed the image panel down to 4 7/8" x 6", and backed it on a sheet of white card stock that I cut at 5" x 6 1/8".

I adhered the panel to the card base and added Glossy Accents to the windows.

To finish the card off, I stamped the sentiment "Let's Fly Away" on a scrap piece of tan card stock, flagged the ends and added it to the image.

Finally, I used the Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs "Special Delivery," set, to add the "Adventure Awaits" sentiment.

And voila! Card complete!

Mixed Media Pendant and an "Anything Goes" Challenge from DTC!!

Hey everyone, happy Friday to you all! I hope your Friday is off to a great start! For today's post, I'm sharing a pendant I created for my daughter as part of the latest "Anything Goes" challenge from the Decorate To Celebrate blog. For the pendant, I used a blank dog tag I purchased from Hobby Lobby. I mod-podged a piece of patterned tissue paper that I made on top of the dog tag. After I let it dry, I attached a jewelry clasp to it using some small nails.

Next, I sprayed over the entire pendant using my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

 

To add some interest, I adhered a coiled piece of jewelry wire and a small propeller on top of the clasp.

To finish off the dog tag, I added the "Own Your Dreams," sentiment, from a Tim Holtz Ideology "Remnant Rubs "Special Delivery" set.

Finally, I added the tag to a chain I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

And ta-da! Pendant complete!
