Sweet and Sassy Tag!!

Hey Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! For today's post, I have a tag I created for the Jiggery Makery blog using the newest digi, "Jayne". This image is a sassy one, with her back turned, hair done, and striking pose, she exudes attitude.
I kept the tag design pretty simple and used a neutral background so this sassy lady can shine.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

I made a custom tag measuring 3 1/4" × 6", using a piece of white card stock.
I cut down two patterned papers from a Heidi Swapp "Serendipity" 12 x 12 paper pad and layered them on the tag.
I trimmed off the excess and added some white stitch lines using my white gel pen.
I then set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image out on white card stock and fuchsia glitter paper.
I used alcohol markers to color her in and here are the colors I used:
-Skin- FS5, FS7, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Cinnamon, E18
-Shoes- C07, C09

I fussy cut the image out and set it aside.
I then turned my attention to the dress I printed on the glitter paper.
I cut it out, adhered it to the image and added shading using my IG3 Spectrum Noir marker.
With the image complete, I used my tape runner to attach it to the tag.

To finish the project off,
I added some shading below the image using my IG3 marker.
The sentiment "Look out World! I've got my Sassy dress on!" was created on my computer using the Curlz MT and Algerian fonts.
I found a phrase that I liked on Pinterest and edited it to fit the image.
I printed the sentiment out, cut it apart and arranged them on the tag.
Lastly, I punched a hole along the top and threaded some Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon, that I dyed to match the patterned paper.

                                                          And voila!! Tag complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day, and Peace!! :)

Autumn Leaves Quick and Easy Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Thursday to you all!! I hope your day is off to a good start! For today's post, I have a quick and easy card I made using the "Fall Leaves" stamp set from the Two Paper Divas June Stamp release. This is a great stamp set featuring a variety of leaves just right for your upcoming Fall projects.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

 The card measures 4 3/4 x 5 1/2" and is a top folding card.

I used a Hampton Art ki "Berry Blast" 6 x 6 paper pad for my card layers.
I trimmed the brown and burnt orange papers to 4 1/2' x 5 1/4" and 4 1/4 x 5".
I adhered the brown paper for the card base using adhesive.
I decided to hold off on adhering the burnt orange layer until I had the image panel complete.

I stamped a few of the leaves on a scrap piece of watercolor paper using Staz On Jet black ink.
I used my Recollections watercolor markers to color them in.
                                                           Here's the colors I used:
                                                            -Yellow
                                                            -Light Orange
                                                            -Orange
                                                            -Cherry
                                                            -Cranberry
                                                            -Dark Brown

I water colored the leaves a few times, mixing different colors to get an ombre effect.
Once my leaves were dry, I fussy cut them out and used a bone folder to curl them slightly to get a  realistic look.
I arranged them on a white card stock panel, that I trimmed to 4 x 4 3/4".
Once I had the placement just right, I adhered them down and trimmed off any overhanging pieces.
I then went in with a fine tip black marker to add some swirls around the leaves.
I used my tape runner to attach the image panel to the burnt orange paper and used pop dots to adhere it to the card base.

To finish off the card, I added some Diamond Stickles to the leaves, a few sequins, and the sentiment "Autumn Leaves" from a sticker sheet.

                                                            And ta-da!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day, and Peace!! :)

Beach Bag Re-Do!!

Hey Everyone!! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog. This time around we got to select a digi from the Etsy shop and create a project featuring one of Adele's fabulous images. I chose to use the beautiful, "Rose" digi to add a touch of flair to a plain beach bag.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

I printed the image on standard printer paper and colored it with my alcohol markers.
I then used a transfer gel medium to transfer the colored image to the beach bag.
I applied the same technique to a sign post, I drew and colored, and some mounds of sand.

I let the gel transfer medium dry and set.
To finish the bag off, I used an epoxy sticker, that I hot glued to the post, which states,                                                                      "Caution:Bikini Alert".

                                                        And ta-da! Beach Bag complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your evening, and Peace!! :)

Quick and Easy Invitation!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog!! For today's post, I wanted to share an invitation I created featuring the newest digi from the Jiggery Makery Etsy Shop, "Victoria".
This is a beautiful image dressed in an elegant ball gown type dress.
The dress is perfect to color in either using watercolors or alcohol markers or paper piecing.
For this project, I chose to paper piece the dress and add a few extra details.

Without further ado, here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a sheet of white card stock cut down to 5 1/2 x 8 1/8" to create the base for the invitation.
I then took a sheet of Recollections "Garden Floral" patterned paper, cut it down to 5 x 7 3/4", and adhered it to the base.
I cut another sheet of white card stock to 3 x 5" and glued it on top of the patterned paper.
I then took my fine tip black marker to write out the "Date", "Time", "Place", and "RSVP by".
With the invitation almost complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image out on white card stock and on a neutral patterned paper.
I used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, FS4, CR3
-Hair- B00, C02, C04, C06, C08

I used C02 and C03 markers to add some shading to the dress.
I cut the dress out and adhered it to the image I colored in.
I then fussy cut it out and colored in the top of the dress and gloves using a CR3 marker.
I added a pearl necklace and decorative brad to finish the look off.
I took my bone folder and run it along the bottom half of the dress to give it a poufy appearance.
I used pop dots to adhere the image to the invitation.

To finish it off, I added some cherry blossom stickers in the corners and Glossy Accents to the dress.

                                                         And voila!! Invitation complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!

"The Mourning Bride" Mixed Media Canvas!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your weekend is off to a great start!! For today's post, I have a project I created for my daughter. What makes this project special is that I included an original poem that she wrote.
It's been awhile since I created a project with no time constraints.
I just wanted to let my creative juices flow and see what the end result would be.
My craft room has a corner where I pile future projects I would like to work on.
At this time, it's hard to find the time to even begin these projects.
With DT requirements, packing for our big move, the girls, and hubby it's been tough.
I hope that once we are finally settled, I can hopefully get them done and share them with you all.
Well with that quick update done, let's get to today's project.

Here's the pic of the completed canvas:

I used an 8 x 16" canvas that I kinda borrowed from hubby.
The inspiration for this project came from this Manga picture I colored last week.
My 15 year old loves everything Anime and Manga, so hubby purchased a few Manga coloring books for her.
I like to color these pictures using my alcohol markers.
I find that it's good practice for trying out coloring techniques, experimenting with colors, and trying out different skin tones.
I was definitely in a coloring kind of mood last week, so I chose these picture to flex my coloring muscles.
I was pleased with how it turned out and initially I wasn't going to tear it out of the book.
But then it hit me, once I saw hubby's pristine canvas staring at me.
Mixed Media Canvas!! Yeah, why not!

Now, don't get me wrong, I normally take a day or two to work on my canvas projects.
But this one took me 3 days to create.
Mainly because I used a lot of texture pastes to create the background.
I bought a few Martha Stewart brands at Michael's on clearance, a few weeks back and the drying time is 24 hours.
Since I wasn't in a rush to create this, the dry time wasn't an issue.
So with canvas in hand, I set to work.

First step was to paint a layer of gesso over the canvas.
As it was drying, I grabbed a few things that I wanted to include like a chipboard circle, tree shape, stars, and a fence made from popsicle sticks.
With supplies in hand, I began laying out the pieces I collected to create my background scene.
I adhered all the pieces down using some Heidi Swapp "Magic Medium".
I then took my Martha Stewart "Stucco" Texture Paste and started applying the paste along the bottom of the canvas.
I also applied it along the bottoms of the tree and fence to blend them into the background.
I set it aside to dry for 24 hours.
Once dry,  I used Martha Stewart "Sparkle" Texture paste to make the moon and stars  a part of the background.
I then set it aside to dry for another 24 hours.

After everything was dry, I used a few paint sprays that I mixed up to add some color.
I wanted the background to be dark and somber, so I used a Cobalt Blue and Black paint for the sky.
I sprayed some water over the top to get the color moving.
For the bottom half, I used a Black paint.
Once I had all the colors laid down, I put it outside to dry.
I went back and forth a few times adding more color here and there.

I used gesso to paint the moon and stars and black acrylic paint for the tree and fence.

Here's a pic of the canvas after it was all painted:

I added highlights to the tree and fence and a starry filled sky with my white gel pen.

Since I had the image all colored in, I just fussy cut her out and added some Glossy Accents in some areas.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
- Skin- FS1, FS4, CR3
-Hair- B00, C02, C04, C06, C08
-Dress- C02, C04, C06, RV19, E18

I then took some wings from my seven year old's Monster High Draculaura doll, made them darker using my RV19 marker, and attached it to the canvas using Glue Dots.
For the image, I used pop dots to adhere it on top of the wings.

All that was left to do now, was to add my daughter's poem.

I told her I wanted something that would fit the image's expression.
She came back a few minutes later with this beautiful, haunting poem.
It doesn't have a title but I thought "The Mournful Bride" fit.
Here's "The Mournful Bride" original poem by Shyann:

She waits for him,
by that cold, stone grave.
That dress he gave
now stained crimson.
Her azure eyes glisten,
with tears that will not fall.
She waits eternally for his call.

And voila!! Canvas complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by and enduring this long post.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Peace!! :)

Two Paper Divas New Stamp Release Day Two!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Thursday to you all!! I hope your day is off to a great start! There's a lot of excitement over at the Two Paper Divas blog in celebration of their newest stamp sets to be released for this month. As a proud member of the Two Paper Divas Design Team, I got a chance to play around with two of the sets from this release, "Twig & Berries" and "Hooters".
I combined the two to create a spooky scene for a Halloween card.
I know what you're probably thinking, "A Halloween card in June??", but I couldn't resist.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

The card base is a dark purple card stock from a DCWV "Timeless Textures" 12 x 12" paper pad and measures 4 x 5".
I layered a navy blue card stock on top, which I cut 1/4" smaller than the card base.
For the image panel, I stamped the "Hooters", drew in a tree shape, and stamped the "Twig and Berries" to fill it in.
I used my BIC MarkIT and Copic markers to color in the scene.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Sky- B29, Plumtastic Purple
-Tree- W9, Woodsy Brown
-Owls- Woodsy Brown, Summer Melon, C04, Forest Green

Once I had the images colored in, I trimmed the white card stock to 3 3/4 x 4 3/4".
I added a full moon that I punched out of white paper, some highlights and stars with my white gel pen.
I used some card stock and acrylic cut outs from my stash to create the sentiment, "Happy Halloween", "Eek" and "Boo".
I used adhesive and glue dots to layer the circles to give it a little dimension.
I used pop dots to adhere the image panel to the card base.

And ta-da!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace! :)

SteamPunk Inspired Birthday Card!!

Hey Everyone!! It's that time again for another great Card Sketch challenge for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
Here's the pic for Card Sketch #122:

We have a great sponsor for this challenge, Creative Embellishments. They are offering a $5 Gift Certificate to their shop for the winner, so make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along.
While you're there, please make sure to check out all the fabulous projects created by our awesome Design Team.
With that said, here's the card I created based on the sketch:

The card base is a 4 1/4 × 5 1/2" sheet of black card stock.
I cut four 1 /2" strips of black glitter paper and adhered them to the card base.
I used a Bronze BIC MarkIt marker to color the glitter paper strips.
Once dry, it gives the strips a leather appearance.
I then added a few metal brads along the edges.
With the background complete, I set it aside to work on the other elements for the card.

For the shoes, I used a Stampendous "SteamPunk Shoes" stamp set.
I stamped the shoes on a pieces of white, copper, gold and black glitter papers.
I cut the pieces I wanted to use from each of the metallic papers and paper pieced on the white card stock.
Once I was happy with the look of the shoes, I fussy cut it out and set it aside.

I used the gears from the stamp set to stamp the images in corners using metallic pigment ink in Gold.
I added a chipboard pocket watch from a Graphic 45 box I bought.
I colored in parts of the watch using the BIC MarkIt metallic markers in Yellow Gold and Bronze.
I adhered it to the card base as well as a butterfly ticket I found.
I added a gear, broken chain and a metal ring to embellish the corner.

To finish the card off, I used pop dots to attach the shoes to the card base.
I stamped the sentiment " Click Your Heels" from the stamp set on a piece of white card stock and adhered it to the card.

And voila!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day, and Peace!! :)

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog! I created a quick sign for my kitchen featuring the lovely, "Elizabeth" digi.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a 5 x 7" canvas for this project.
I used a 6 x 6" sheet of double sided paper from the Teresa Collins "Vintage Finds" paper pad for the background.
I added the reverse side of the paper along the edges.

I printed the image onto a sheet of white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- C00, C02
-Hair- C03, C05, C07
-Cup and Saucer- C03, C05
-Shoes- C05, C07

I wanted to mimic the look of an old black and white photo, hence the color scheme.
I fussy cut the image out, added highlights using my white gel pen, and adhered her to the background using pop dots.

I used Heidi Swapp Chipboard Alphas in Black for the words "Coffee" and "Tea".
I added highlights to the letters using a white gel pen.

To finish the canvas off, I adhered a few Recollections flowers, added decorative brads to the centers and drew in some flourishes.
Lastly, a black and white polka dot ribbon adhered to the back completes the look.

And ta-da!! Sign complete!!
