Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #94!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your day is off to a good start!! I'm back with another great challenge for the Feeling Sketchy blog!! The challenge is to create a card using the latest Card Sketch.
Here is a pic of Card Sketch #94, which is up and running now through July 14th:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy Blog to play along and check out the great cards the DT members have created!
There are some great prize packs to be won from this month's sponsors: Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and Aurora Wings.

For my card, I chose the "We're No Evil" digi stamp image from Aurora Wings and created a masculine card.
Here's the pic for you to peruse:

The card measures 4 1/2 x 6" and is made from a sheet of Kraft cardstock.
I added a piece of olive green patterned paper, from a DCWV "Stack 180" pack as my card layer and it measures 4 1/4 x 5 3/4".
I used ATG to attach it to the card base.
For the image, I printed it out on white cardstock and used my Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color it in.
Here is a list of the colors I used:
- Owls- E13, E15, E18, YR04 C1, C3
- Leaves- Bic MarkIt- Key Lime Green, Forest Green
- Sky- Bic MarkIt- Deep Sea Blue
- Branch- BIc MarkIt- Honey Brown, Woodsy Brown

To add a few extra details, I used my Sakura White Gel pen to add highlights to the owls' feathers and the branch.
I also drew the moon and added a halo effect around the owls and leaves.
I traced around the colored images with my white gel pen and smudged it.
( I discovered this by accident but loved the effect it gave to the image.)

After I had the image colored in, I cut it into three parts.
I backed each of the pieces on white cardstock and left 1/8" border all around.
I then assembled the pieces on the card base and used ATG and pop dots to attach it.

For the sentiment, I cut out a 1 x 3" banner using the green patterned paper and white cardstock and wrote the sentiment, "Who Loves You" with a fine tip black marker.
To finish it off, I added some 7Gypsies, Pyramid Studs.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you all enjoyed this project for today!!
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

A Magical Birthday Card!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your Wednesday is off to a fabulous start! It's been a hectic couple of days around here lately. We celebrated my daughter's 15th birthday yesterday with lots of food and shopping, of course.
I've also been busy working on upcoming projects for the Design Teams I'm on and gearing up to take an Online Card Class, which I'm extremely excited about.
Phew!! I think I might need a vacay soon to recharge my batteries!
Before I go running off to some tropical locale (I wish), let's move on to today's project.
I have a card I created using two digital stamps, some watercoloring, alcohol markers and some sparkle.
Here's the pic for you to peruse:

This is a tall card made out of a sheet of white cardstock and measures 4 1/4 x 10 3/4".
For the images, I used two digital stamp images from Aurora Wings and printed them on white cardstock.
I enlarged the top image and minimized the bottom one.
I wanted to create the illusion of the one image gazing down on the other.
I think I may have achieved just that but I'll leave that up to you to decide.

I used a combo of Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color these images in.
Here is a list of the colors used:
Top Image: "Autumn Rose"
- Skin- E00, E11, E13, R20
- Hair- E13, E15, E18
- Roses- Bic MarkIt- Rambunctious Red, Tiki Hut Tan
- Leaves- Bic MarkIt- Key Lime, Forest Green

Bottom Image: "StarDancer"
-Skin- E00, E11, R20
- Hair- E13, E15, E18
- Dress- R20, Bic MarkIt- Pink Flamingo

After I had the images colored in, I cut them out and set them aside.

For my card layer, I cut a sheet of watercolor paper to 4 x 10 1/2".
I placed the smaller "StarDancer" image on the paper and traced a rough oval around the image.
I then cut out an oval out of a scrap piece of paper to mask off the area.
I used a light blue watercolor marker to color in the background and dried it with my heat tool.
Once dry, I removed the oval mask and watercolored the white space using a yellow watercolor marker.

Quick Tip: I scribble the marker on an acrylic block and pick up the color with a wet brush.
This is a great way to add color gradually onto your project and build up the color as you go along.

Once I had the space colored in, I dried it with my heat tool, added some Stickles to the paper to make it sparkle and used my ATG gun to attach it to the card base.
All that was left to do was add my images and some embellishments.

For the "Autumn Rose" image, I used some foam tape to attach it to the top of the card.
I angled it slightly, so that it would appear she was looking at something below her.
For the "StarDancer" image, I created a base beneath her to give the illusion of those old jewelry boxes.
You know the ones with the dolls and turnkeys that twirled around when you opened them.
I used a piece of foil tape from Ranger, rounded the corners, colored it using Adirondack Alcohol ink in "Butterscotch", dry embossed a pattern using a stylus and added some jewels.

I taped a piece of gold wire to the back of the foil tape and taped the "StarDancer" image to the wire.
I used Glossy Accents on the box and foam tape on the image to attach it to the card.

To finish off the card, I added some pearls and the sentiment, "Have a Magical Birthday".

And voila!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

With that said, here is a pic of a CAS card I created based on this week's challenge:

The card is a standard A2 size card base made from white cardstock.
I cut another piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4" for the card layer.
I stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from an old Stampin Up stamp I own, making sure that it was centered, in Staz On Jet Black ink.

For the hearts, I used a small heart punch from EK Success and some Stampin Glitter from Stampin Up in "Rose Ritz"and "Fabulous Fuchsia".
I covered the cardtsock hearts in ATG tape, added the glitter, burnished it and used Glossy Accents to attach to the card layer.

For the banners, I added the tape and glitter to a strip of black cardstock and cut out the banner shapes with my scissors.
I used some Glossy Accents to adhere them to the upper right corner.

To finish off the card, I added sequins, pearls, and some doodling.
I used a corner rounder to round the bottom corners on both the card base and card layer.
Some foam tape attaches the card panel to the card base.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #93!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your day is off to a great start!! I'm back with another great card sketch for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
The card I created is based off of  Card Sketch #93.

This challenge is up and running now through June 30th.
Make sure to pop by the blog: feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com to link up your projects and check out all the great cards the DT members have created.
Don't forget there are some great prize packs for you to win from our sponsors this month: Molossi- $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and StichyBear Digi Outlet: $15 Digi Stamp Pack.

Here is the card I created based on the sketch:

The card base is made from a sheet of neutral cardstock from a DCWV "A La Creme" pack and it measures 5 3/4 x 8".
To start this card off, I began by stamping and watercoloring this postcard image that I purchased from Ebay.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the company that makes this particular rubber stamp, but I was dying to try this out and thought it would work with this card.
The stamp measures 2 7/8 x 5" so it's a nice size to use on any card.
Once, I had the image colored, I cut it out, inked the edges and distressed them to give it an aged look.
I adhered this piece directly to my card using my ATG.

I attached a piece of light blue cardstock from another DCWV pack to the right hand side of the card.
I also inked the edges and distressed them a bit.
I stamped a postage stamp image, from a Recollections stamp set I had, on the top.
For the sentiment, I printed a custom sentiment from my computer that states:
Missing You
123 Thinking of You Way
Be Back Soon, USA
onto a leftover piece of neutral cardstock.
I inked the edges and attached it to my card base.
All that was left to do now was to color my main image.

For the image, I chose this StichyStamps "Babe".
Here is a list of the colors I used:
-Skin- E00, E11, R20
- Hair- E13, E15, E18
- Swimsuit- Bic MarkIt markers in: Hot Aqua, Fandango Pink, Key Lime

Once, I had the image colored in, I cut it out and used foam tape to attach it to the card base.

To finish off this card, I added some Liquid Pearls, Stickles and rhinestones

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Handmade Harbour Stitching "Faux or Real" Challenge!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "Hump" day to you all!! I hope your day is off to a great start. For today's post,  I have a card I created for the latest Handmade Harbour Challenge. The theme for this week's challenge is Stitching "Faux or Real."
Make sure to stop by the Handmade Harbour blog: handmadeharbourchallenges.blogspot.com to link up your projects and be sure to check out the great projects the DT members have created.
The prize, for those who participate in this week's challenge, is your choice of 3 digi stamps from the Handmade Harbour store.
I look forward to seeing what you create.

Here's the pic of my card for your perusing pleasure:

The card base is a standard A2 size card made from a sheet of black cardstock,  cut at 4 1/4 × 11 to create a top fold card.
I cut a piece of white cardstock, for the card layer, to 4 x 5 1/4" and adhered it down using my ATG gun.
For the panel on the front of the card,  I trimmed a sheet of black cardstock to 1 3/4 × 5 1/4" and layered a piece of pink cardstock on top cut at 1 1/2 × 5 1/4".
I added a strip of lace down the middle, that was threaded with a black gingham ribbon, and secured it to the back using tape.
I used a white gel pen to create stitch lines along the pink cardstock and adhered the panel using  my ATG
Once I had my card base complete, I set to work on the image.

I printed the Girl with Flowers image on white cardstock.
The number for this image in the store is #555.
I used a combo of Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color it in.
Here is a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- E00, E11, R20
- Hair- E13, E15, E18
- Dress and Barrettes- Pink Flamingo, Fandango pink
- Jacket- Blue Skies Blue
- Shoes and Stockings- Cloud Nine Grey, Tuxedo Black
- Flowers- Rambunctious Red, Honey Brown

For some added detail, I used Glossy Accents on the shoes and barrettes.
And some white stitch lines to the jacket and dress.
I also used a piece of the black gingham ribbon along the hem of the dress.

I took a journaling card from a Heidi Swapp set, punched holes all along the edge and threaded some black embroidery floss through the holes I created.
I then tied it in a knot on the back and glued my image on top of it.
I then used pop dots to adhere it to the card base.

To finish off the card, I added flowers, pearls and my sentiment "Sending my Love" from a  CardzTV "Encouraging Thoughts" stamp set.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you all enjoyed this project for today.
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Ceramic Tile Napkin Holder!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend! For this post today, I have another ceramic tile project that I colored with my Bic MarkIt markers. I wanted to try coloring in a stamped image on tile using alcohol markers because I got good results using alcohol inks in the past.
But this proved to be quite a challenge, given the fact that Staz On is the best ink for tile stamping, but reacts with alcohol markers. I normally don't have an issue when I'm stamping on cardstock, only because I make sure to heat set the ink before coloring.
Heat setting the ink before coloring it in did not work for this tile project.
As soon as I started to color the image in, the ink started to run into my marker, which left me with black streaks on the nib.
Of course this was an easy fix, I just scribbled the marker on a scrap piece of paper to clean it off.
But I was still left with the dilemma of the ink reacting with the alcohol.
Thankfully Hubby gave me the idea to try sealing the tile with a clear acrylic spray before coloring.
I was a little apprehensive and frustrated by this point but I figured what did I have to lose.
If it didn't work, back to the drawing board.
Luckily it worked.
Well I've gone on long enough, here's the pic for you to check out:

For this napkin holder, I used three 4 x 4" ceramic tiles.
I stamped my flower and butterfly images on two of the tiles with Staz On Jet Black ink.
I then sprayed a thin coat of clear acrylic sealer and let it dry for 20 minutes.
Once dry, I used my Bic Mark It markers to color in the images.
Here is a rundown of the colors I used:

- Flowers- Pink Flamingo, Fandango Pink
- Stems- Key Lime
- Flower Centers- Yellow Blaze, Summer Melon
- Butterfly- Yellow Blaze, Summer Melon, Sunset Orange

Once I had the images colored, I sponged a light blue ink for the background and sealed the tile with another coat of the clear acrylic spray.

For the third tile, I stamped a leaf border and sponged some more of the light blue ink to match.
I then sealed the tile with acrylic spray and set it aside to dry.
Hubby added a small block of wood, that I covered with a pink striped paper, to the center of the tile using TiteBond adhesive.
I used the same adhesive to attach the stamped tiles to either side of the wood block.
I then set it aside to dry to give the adhesive time to dry.
Lastly, add your napkins to your new napkin holder.

And voila!! project complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Layout Sketch #92!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "T.G.I.F" to you all!! I'm back with another LO for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
This LO is based on the latest Layout Sketch #92, which is up and running now through June 29.

Make sure to stop by the Feeling Sketchy blog: feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com to link up your project and check out the wonderful LO's created by the DT members.
This month's sponsors are Molossi with a $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and StichyBear's Digi Outlet with a $15 Digital Image Pack.

Without further ado, here is my LO based on this sketch:

For this LO, I scrapped a pic of my daughter with Elsa from Frozen.
She was so excited to see her favorite character at our local mall.
When we arrived the line went out the door and it was a 2 1/2 hour wait from there.
But in the end, I think it was definitely worth it and my daughter's smile says it all.

So using the sketch above as inspiration, I set to work on my page.
The background paper is from a DCWV "Timeless Texture" pack.
I used a snowflake stencil and some Distress Paint in Antique Linen to create this subtle pattern behind the photo.
I adhered two pieces of lace threaded with sheer blue ribbon, directly to the page using Glossy Accents, to mimic the two strips in the sketch.

For the pic, I matted it on a blue patterned paper from a DCWV Stack 180 pack and added some light blue scalloped edges to frame it out.
I cut out some swirls from the same blue paper and added them directly to the photo.
I used my white gel pen to add some dash lines to the swirls.
I adhered this "Today" tab to the top of the pic and used pop dots to adhere it to the page.
All that was left to do was to add some embellishments and a title.

To dress up the page, I used die cut snowflakes, pearls, white dash lines, and a clipboard die cut.
And for the title "Pics with Elsa", I used a Tim Holtz Ideaology Alpha Ransom Letters, sponged some Antique Linen Distress Paint over them, and adhered it to the LO.

And ta-da!! layout complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Have a great T.G.I.F and a fabulous weekend and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #91!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Sunday to you all!! I hope your weekend has been good so far. I'm back with another great card sketch from the Feeling Sketchy blog.

This is Card Sketch #91 which is up and running now through June 14.

Make sure to stop by the Feeling Sketchy blog: feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com to play along and check out all the great cards the DT members have created to inspire you.

Here is the card I made based on the sketch:

The card base is 5 1/4 x 8".
I trimmed down a sheet of black cardstock to 4 7/8 x 7 3/4" for the card layer.
I cut two vertical strips measuring 1 3/4 x 7 1/4" out of pink cardstock and attached it to either side of my card using my ATG gun.
I cut two more strips of a white patterned cardstock at 1 1/2 x 7" and layered it on top of the pink.
I used my Cricut to cut this 4' oval out of the same pink cardstock, embossed it using my Tim Holtz Alterations "French Script" folder, sponged some Distress Paint in "Antique Linen" across the top and attached it to the card base.
Once I had all the elements for the card base completed, I set it aside to work on the images.

I used two images from the StichyBear's Digi Outlet for this card: Barbara Jensen- Fluff and this High Heel stamp.
I printed both images on white cardstock and used a combo of Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color them in.
Here is a list of the colors I used:
-Skin- E00, E11, R20
-Hair- E13, E15, E18
-Corset- Fandango Pink, Honey Brown
-Towel-  Blue Skies Blue, Deep Sea Blue
-Stockings- Cloud Nine Grey
- High Heel- Tuxedo Black
I used a Recollections Silver Metallic marker for her eyeshadow and the heel.
And a white gel pen to add some details to the corset.
I used my ATG gun and some pop dots to attach the images to the card base.

To finish the card, I die cut three small black flowers using my Momenta Wafer Thin Die and added pearls to the centers.
Lastly, I cut a banner at 1/2 x 2 1/2" and added the sentiment "Have a Sassy Birthday" that I printed off my computer.

And voila! card complete.

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and Peace!! :)
