Anchors Aweigh Tablet Stand!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog.
This time around I decided to alter a tablet stand that hubby had made to create a unique and functional piece.
I used one of Adele's awesome pin up digis, "Josie", as the main focal image.
This is a great 1940's-esque image to color or paper piece.
I used both my alcohol markers and paper piecing to bring the image to life.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a 4 3/4 ×7 3/4" wooden tablet stand that hubby had made and painted a few coats of gesso over the top.
Once dry, I used a pencil and ruler to create 1/2" strips across the stand.
I used a Bic MarkIt marker in "Yellow Gold" to color the stripes in.
I set it aside to dry and began work on the image.

I printed the image out and used my alcohol markers and paper piecing to bring her to life.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
- Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3
- Hair - C02, C04, C07
-Anchor - C02, C04, C06, C08

I used some red polka dot paper to paper piece the scarf, shoes and blouse.
For the shorts and hat, I used a blue patterned paper.
I used my C02 and C04 markers to add shading to the pieces.
I added some detailing with a white gel pen and Glossy Accents.
I fussy cut the image, and adhered it to the background.

To finish it off, I added a handle, twine and stars.

                                                     And ta-da!!Tablet stand complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!

Here's the pic for you to check out:

The card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".
The card layer is a sheet of white card stock cut down to 3 3/4 x 5".
I used a Paper Studio embossing folder to create this fun border around the edges.
I added yellow ribbon to the card layer
I stamped the beehive and bees on a sheet of yellow patterned paper from a Recollections "Garden Florals" pack.
I used my C02 marker to add some shading to the stamped images, cut them out and arranged them on the card layer.
I used pop dots to adhere it to the card base.

For the sentiment, I stamped "Just Heard the Buzzz!" using Staz On ink on a 1/2" strip of white card stock.
I layered it on a 1" strip of yellow patterned paper, notched the ends and adhered it to the card.
To finish the card off, I added some black stitching lines to the banner, card base and bees.

First ATC Card!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend! I'm back with a Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog. This time around I decided to create my very first ATC card featuring the wonderful "Wavey" image from the shop. This is a great image to use to practice coloring hair and is a different design than what Adele normally draws. I really had fun playing around with this latest digi and you can find her in the Jiggery Makery Etsy Shop.
With all that said, here's the pic for you to check out;

To create this ATC card, I used a few layers of white card stock and glued them together to give me a sturdy base.
Each of the pieces were cut at 2 1/2 x 3 1/2".
I mod podged some white tissue paper on top of the card stock and set it aside to dry.
I gessoed the entire surface, let it dry and then added some color using my Distress Paints.
I used Peeled Paint and Seedless Preserves.
I then stamped a scroll pattern using Antique Linen Distress Paint.
I stamped a few dots and added some splatters using black paint.
Once I was happy with the background, I set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon

I fussy cut the image out and went around the edges using a fine tip brown marker.
I used a few pop dots to adhere the image to the background.

I decided to create a decorative frame around the card using some black paint and Antique Linen Distress paint.
I got the idea for this frame watching a tutorial from a wonderful YouTuber by the name of RachO113.
Her channel is filled with whimsical art journal pages and mixed media art.
So make sure to check out her channel to see all the beautiful art she creates.
Once I had the frame done, I added some acrylic words along the top and bottom.

And ta-da!! ATC card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!

Quick and Easy Tag Plus Altered Clothespins!!

Hey Everyone!! It's Elina here with a few quick and easy projects I created for the Two Paper Divas blog. These projects feature the newest stamp sets to be released for the month of April from the Two Paper Divas store. These stamp sets offer some great images and sentiments for you to use on all your paper crafting projects. When it came time to create the projects featured today, it was hard for me to choose which set to use. So for the tag, I opted to use elements from three of the sets to create a scene.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used the flower and vase from the "Life's Simple Pleasures" set.
The flip flops are from the "Life Is Better in Flip Flops" set and the bees are from the "Bee Happy" set.
To create the scene, I first adhered a blue polka dot paper and green check pattern paper from the Recollections "Bold Basics" pack.
I inked the edges with a dark brown ink and added stitching lines with my white gel pen.
For the vase, I stamped it on a sheet of white card stock and fussy cut it out.
I used my BG1 marker to add a highlight around the vase.
I also used this same marker to color in the bottom.
I stamped the flowers on three sheets of patterned paper, fussy cut them out and set them aside.
I adhered the vase to the tag and arranged the flowers.
To give it dimension, I added Glossy Accents to the vase and flower centers.

For the flip flops, I stamped them on floral and pink polka dot patterned papers.
I cut the flip flops out from the floral paper and paper pieced the thongs from the pink polka dot paper.
I used a pop dot to adhere them to the tag.
For the bees, I stamped them on white card stock, colored them in and cut them out.
I glued them to the tag along with a few sequins.
I used the sentiment, "Enjoy life's Simple Pleasures" from the "Life's Simple Pleasures" set and stamped it on white card stock.
I cut the words apart and arranged them on the tag.

To finish it off, I added this WeRMemory Keepers pinwheel ribbon.

When I was finished with the tag, I wanted to create another project featuring the flip flops image.
I decided to go with altered clothespins.
These would make a great Teacher's gift, or used on a card or layout.
I thought these would be perfect to use to make a banner.
Just string a few together on some twine and use them to hold your banner sentiment.
For my clothespins,I used some coordinating patterned papers from the Recollections "Bold Basics" paper pack.
I paper pieced the different elements of the flip flops, to create a unique look for each one.
I gessoed the clothespins and then added a strip of patterned paper.
I then adhered the flip flops to the clothespins and added them to a piece of cardboard to display them.

And voila!! Projects complete!!

I hope you enjoyed these projects for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!!

Travel Journal Altered Notebook Project!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and that your week is off to a great start!! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery Blog. For my project today, I decided to alter a notebook using some Graphic 45 "By The Sea" paper pack and the newest digi from Adele's etsy shop, "Valerie". I love the vintage 50's inspired digis that Adele has been creating as of late. This newest image is perfect for creating summer inspired projects for the home or as a focal point on a card. The possibilities are endless.
I decided to do a Travel Journal.
I got the idea from a recent conversation I had with hubby regarding the places we would most like to visit.
I thought it would be cool to put down our favorite destinations, complete with pics, info and fun facts.
I was able to complete the cover front and back, but this is one project I will continue to work on from time to time.
Here's the pics for you to check out:

I used a composition book for this project.
I used this blue patterned paper from the Graphic 45 pack to cover the front.
I trimmed the edges to fit the cover and inked them with some dark brown ink.
I added some coordinating patterned paper strips along the spine and across the bottom.
I used two of the cut apart cards from the collection, punched a hole along the top and added some twine to create tags.
I inked the edges, distressed them and used some glue dots to attach them to the notebook.

To embellish the cover, I added some white tulle, seashells and pearls.
For the title, "Travel Journal", I used alpha stickers and 7 Gypsies Typeset Metal Alphas.
With the cover complete, I set to work on the image.

I used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Cinnamon, Spice
-Shorts- Artist's Loft Dual Tip Markers in #531, #302

I fussy cut the image out and went around the edges using a fine tip brown marker.
I paper pieced the top, sunglasses and heels.
I added shading to the paper pieced pieces with my C02 marker.
I drew some stitch lines on the shorts and added Glossy Accents to the sunglasses, heels and lips.
I used pop dots to attach her to the background.

For the inside back cover, I used a red patterned paper from the paper pack and added a pocket using some coordinating paper.
I made two tags for the inside of the pocket using the cut apart cards from the collection.
One side is for journaling and the other is for photos.
I added some stamps I cut from one of the patterned papers, inked the edges and adhered them along the top.
I added some DCWV "Vacation" sticker quotes along the bottom of the pocket.

And voila!! Journal complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

For this project, I used an 8 x 10" Framing Mat board.
I mod podged a damask patterned paper onto the mat board and inked the edges using brown ink.
I added some stitching lines with my white gel pen around the edges.
With the mat board complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3

I added some shading to the dress using my C03 marker.
I used Glossy Accents on the bow and belt.
I fussy cut her out, went around the edges using a fine tip brown marker, and used pop dots to attach her to the board.

To the center of the board, I added a printed quote on vellum that I found in my stash.
The quote is from Elizabeth Cady Stanton and reads, "Nature never repeats herself, and the possibilities of one human soul will never be found in another."
I adhered the quote to a piece of white card stock, added a pink polka dot frame around it and adhered it to the back of the board.
I added a few rub on flourishes and some Prima flowers along the top finish it off.
