Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #100!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your weekend is off to a great start!! I'm back with another great Card Sketch Challenge from the Feeling Sketchy blog.
This is Card Sketch #100:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along and check out the great projects the Design Team has created.
This challenge is up and running now through September 14.
There's also a great prize pack for you to win from our sponsors Flourish with a Bling, $15 Gift Voucher and Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling pack.

With that said, here is the card I created based on this latest sketch:

The upcoming Fall season was definitely on my mind when I made this card.
The card base is a standard A2 size made from a rust colored cardstock.
I added a green panel, cut at 4 x 5 1/4", to the base using my ATG gun.
For the main panel, I cut a sheet of white cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5," cut a cloud mask and sponged the background with a light blue ink.
The end result is this cloudy sky backdrop.
I attached it to the base with my ATG.

For the branch, I drew it on brown cardstock and cut it out.
I sponged the edges with brown ink and created the look of bark with a stylus.
I used some foam tape to adhere it to the upper right corner.
I punched out some leaves from red, orange and green cardstocks and scattered them throughout the card front.
I added some Stickles to the leaves to make them sparkly.
I created the look of wind, blowing the leaves around with Liquid Pearls in Bisque.

For my sentiment, I found this quote on Scrapbook.com from Author: Julie Perkins Cantrell
"Crunching, crinkling autumn leaves
Spiraling, swirling in the breeze".
I printed it out on a sheet of white cardstock and trimmed around it.
I matted the sentiment on rust and green cardstocks and used foam tape to attach it to the card base.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Sunday and Peace!! :)

"Kitty Bee Designs Halloween Blog Hop"!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Sunday to you all!! This is the second to the last stop on the Kitty Bee Design Team's "Halloween" Blog Hop!! I hope you all have enjoyed seeing the Design Team's awesome projects
showcasing the newest Halloween Digital Stamps from the KBD etsy store. These images are super cute, including the one I chose for my project today.
Here is a pic of "The Count Penguin" digi stamp I used to create a one of a kind treat box:

Isn't he the cutest?!
I love his little vampire cape.
For this little guy, I kept the coloring pretty simple using a combo of Copics and Bic Mark It markers.
Here is a quick rundown of the colors I used:
- Body- C07, Tuxedo Black
- Tummy- C01
- Beak and Feet- Summer Melon, YR04, Sunset Orange
- Cape- Rambunctious Red, Honey Brown

To finish the image off, I added a few highlights using a Sakura White Gel pen.
Once the coloring was done, I cut him out and set him aside.

I knew I wanted to create a coffin for this cute little guy to sit in.
I played around with the idea of making a coffin shaped card, but I thought that a 3D version would give me the look I was going for.
So I drew a custom coffin template, cut it out of a sheet of 12 x 12" purple cardstock and embellished it.
Here's the pic of the outside of the coffin:

I used some gold rickrack for the border, some die cut pieces and black brads to decorate the front.
I added some gold sequins to the skeleton's eyes and some highlights with a gold gel pen to finish it off.
I also decorated the sides and bottom of the coffin.

Once I had the outside decorated, I moved on to the interior.
I adhered two pieces of black patterned paper to the inside and created a pocket to add a few treats.

On the bottom interior piece, I added a banner with the sentiment "Boo!" and a few bats that I die cut.
I used quite a few layers of foam tape to attach the penguin and finished it off with more gold sequins.

I'll be giving this box to my 6 year old daughter but I just might have to make another one for me as well.

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!

Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday School Challenge!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy T.G.I.F!! to you all!! I hope your day is off to a good start! For today's post, I have a project I created for the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge.
The theme for this week's challenge is "School".
Make sure to head over to the Kitty Bee Designs blog to play along and check out the awesome projects created by the wonderful DT members.
Our sponsor for this challenge is 2 Cute Ink and they have a great prize pack for you to win, 2 digis of your choice.
With that said, onward to my school themed project for this challenge.
I created a one of a kind notebook with matching pencil topper.
Here's the pic for your perusal:

I took an ordinary composition notebook and covered it front and back with this patterned paper.
The paper came from a DCWV Stack 180 pack.
I used my ATG gun to adhere it down and my Xacto knife to trim around the edges.
I took a strip of Craft cardstock to cover the spine, making sure to crease the cardstock while I was attaching it.
Creasing the cardstock makes it easier to open and close the notebook.
Once I had the book covered, I set it aside to work on the image.

The image I chose for this project is this cute "Ms.Owl" digi and it can be purchased from the KBD Etsy Shop.
I printed it off on a sheet of white cardstock and kept the coloring pretty simple using my Copics and Bic MarkIT markers.
Here is a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Body- E15, E18
-Face, Tummy- C01
-Beak, Feet- YR04
- Flower- Polynesian Purple

I added a few highlights with a white gel pen and cut both images out leaving a small white border.

For the notebook, I layered a scalloped border and a few squares to create this background panel for the owl.
I used my ATG gun to adhere all the pieces together and added some foam tape to the owl.
To finish it off, I added a piece of brown ribbon tied in a bow, a few pearls and a banner.
I used my handwriting for the sentiment "School's a Hoot".

The pencil topper was pretty easy to create.
I took a 1 1/2" strip of blue paper, wrapped it around the end of a pencil, and taped it in place.
I made sure not to wrap it too tight so that it can be removed easily.
I  then used some glue dots to attach the smaller owl image to the paper strip.

And ta-da!! custom notebook and topper complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Friday, and Peace!! :)

"Spooky Doll Halloween Tag"!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy T.G.I.F to you all!! I hope your Friday is off to a great start. For today's project I have a Halloween tag I made featuring my daughter's artwork. She drew a wonderful "Spooky Doll" and once I saw it I knew I had to turn it into a tag. The image is spooky, cute and perfect for Halloween.
Here are the pics of the completed tag for you to peruse:

I used a manila tag measuring 2 5/8 x 5 1/4".
I added some torn strips of olive green patterned paper from a DCWV Stack 180 pack to the top and bottom.
I roughed up the edges and inked them with a dark brown ink.
I took a black patterned paper from the same DCWV pack, roughed up the edges, and added it to the middle of the tag.
I used my ATG gun to adhere the papers to the tag.
I left a few areas of the tag uncovered and used a Rambunctious Red marker to add some color to the those areas.
I went back in with a needle and black embroidery floss to add some stitch lines between the papers.
To finish off the background, I added some more embroidery floss to the top and bottom.
And set the tag aside to work on the image.

For the image, I used a combo of Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color it in:

-Doll's Body- C01, C03, C05
-Open Areas- C07, Tuxedo Black
-Stuffing- C01
-Inside- Rambunctious Red, Pink Flamingo

I used some waffle paper and grey ink to sponge a pattern on the doll.
I added a few highlights with a white gel pen and inked the edges in grey.
I used foam tape to attach the doll to the tag.

To finish the tag off, I added a Tim Holtz Trinket Pin, embroidery needles, "Boo" sentiment and a few bats.

And voila!! tag complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Friday and Peace!! :)

"Let's Hang Out Card"!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Saturday to all!! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I apologize for being away from my blog this past week or so, but my mind has been on vacay since the girls started school.
I'm not sure when it decided to take a leave of absence but I must have missed that memo.
But I know I need to get back to doing what I love to do.
Crafting, blogging, and sharing with you all!!
Now with that said, let's get on to today's project.
I created a simple card featuring a cute monster that was drawn for me by my 15 year old daughter.
She is quite the artist!!

Here's the pics of the finished card for you to peruse:

The card measures 5 1/2 x 7 1/4"  using white cardstock as my base.
I cut a grey patterned paper from a ColorBok pack to 5 1/4 x 7", inked the edges in grey and adhered it to the card base.
I added a few strips of paper, measuring 1/4-1/2", to the left hand side of the card.
I took the image my daughter drew and colored it in using my Copics and Bic MarkIt markers.
Here is a rundown of the colors I used:
- Monster's Fur- C1, C3, C5, B29
- Claws- Bic MarkIt- Oceanview Blue
- Mouth- Bic MarkIt- Rambunctious Red, Tiki Hut Tan
- Tongue- Bic MarkIt- Pink Flamingo
- Sunglasses- Bic MarkIt- Hot Aqua, Metallic MarkIt in Silver

I added some extra details to the fur with a white gel pen.
For the sunglasses, I traced them onto another sheet of paper, colored them in, cut them out, and used foam tape to attach them to the monster's face.
Once I had my coloring complete, I used some foam tape to adhere it to the card base.

I used an Inkadinkado Summer Assortment stamp set for the "Let's Hang Out" sentiment.
I stamped it on white cardstock using StazOn Jet Black ink and created this speech bubble around the sentiment.
I used foam tape to adhere it.
To finish it off, I added a few silver star eyelets to the corners.

And voila!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #99!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your day is off to a good start! I'm back with another great Card Sketch from the Feeling Sketchy blog!
This is Card Sketch #99:

Make sure to stop by the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along and check out the awesome cards created by the DT members.
Our sponsors for this challenge have some great prize packs for you to win: Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling pack, and ScrapBoutique, $20 voucher.

For the card I created , I decided to create a simple one layer card.
I am currently taking an Online Card Class and this card is based on one of the techniques demonstrated using graphic stamps.
Here is the pic for your perusing pleasure:

This card is a standard A2 size white cardstock base.
I used a small square stamp from an Inkadinkado Inchies Background stamp set.
I drew some diagonal lines on the card base as a guide to where to position my stamp.
I used four different shades of Stampin Up ink, Going Grey, Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue, and Tempting Turquoise, to stamp out my pattern.
Once I had all the stamping done, I erased all the pencil lines and cut out a window for the sentiment.
I stamped the "Happy Birthday" stamp from Stampin Up in Staz On ink.

And to finish off the card, I added some blue and grey sequins.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

A Frog, A Slider Card and a New Design Team, Oh My!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "Hump" day to you all!! I hope your Wednesday was off to a fabulous start! My days have been super busy lately, with back to school right around the corner. My girls and I have been trying to cram in as much swimming time as we can before next week. Plus, I've been taking my first Online Card Class and having a blast with that. I 've been learning some new tricks and techniques and I hope to be sharing some of my creations with you all soon. The instructors are fabulous and I would love to be able to enroll in another class when this one is over.

Before I get too off track, onward to today's project.
I created my very first ever slider card featuring this adorable "Hip Hop Froggie" image from Kitty Bee Designs.
I am excited to announce that I am the newest member of their fabulous Design Team and this card is part of my first DT Spotlight, which is up now on the Kitty Bee Designs blog.
Here are the pics of the final card for you to check out:

When I saw this image, I knew I wanted to create a slider card to make this little guy jump up in the air.
I watched a ton of videos on You Tube on how to create this, but I eventually combined a few techniques to achieve the final result.

To begin, I started by printing the image onto white cardstock.
I used a combo of Bics and Copics to color him in.
Here is a rundown of the colors I used:

- Skin- YG03, Margarita Green and Key Lime
- Belly- C01, C03
- Heart and mouth- Rambunctious Red, Honey Brown
- Spots- Forest Green and Honey Brown
-Eyes- B32

I used a white gel pen to add a few highlights to the image.
Then I cut it out, leaving a 1/8" white border all the way around.
I set it aside to work on the rest of the card.

The card base is a 5 x 11 1/2" sheet of dark brown Kraft cardstock.
I scored the cardstock at twice at 5 3/4" and I was left with a 1" strip.
Once I had the cardstock scored, I set it aside to finish up the other elements for this card.

I cut a sheet of watercolor paper to 4 1/2" x 5 1/2".
I wanted to create a background scene for my frog.
I used my Recollections watercolor markers in Light Blue and Turquoise to paint the sky and the water.
Once dry, I used my Distress Markers in Shabby Shutters and Victorian Velvet to add some grass and a water lily.
After all the water coloring was done, I used my ATG to adhere it to the card base.

To create the sliding mechanism, I cut a vertical line through the watercolor and cardstock layers with my Xacto knife.
I cut a notch at the top with a circle punch, and added a 1 x 3" strip, that had adhesive on one side and a foam square on the other.
I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/2 x 5 1/2" and attached it to the adhesive side of the strip.
I added some more adhesive to the leftover strip of the card base and folded it up, so that the white cardstock layer was on the inside.

For the outside of the card, I attached my frog image to the foam square side and checked to make sure that both pieces slid up easily.

Quick Tip: The 1 x 3" strip is what attaches your image and sentiment together.
When pulled straight up, the image and sentiment should slide up at the same time.
Just remember that the foam square and adhesive you use, are all you need to make this card work.

To finish up the card, I cut out a lily pad for the frog to rest on, a few flies, for when he's hungry and my sentiments.
I used my handwriting and a Pigma Micron pen and brush to write the sentiments on the front and inside of the card.

And ta-da!! slider complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Sorry if it was a long one but I wanted to make sure I documented the steps that went into the making of this card.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Layout Sketch #98!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend and a great start to your week! I'm back with another awesome Layout Sketch for the Feeling Sketchy blog!
This is Layout Sketch #98:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along with us and check the beautiful LO's created by the DT members.
There are also some great prize packs for you to win from our sponsors: Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and ScrapBoutique, $20 Voucher.

With that said, here's the pic of the LO I created based on this latest sketch:

For this LO, I used papers from the American Crafts "Dear Lizzy", 5th and Frolic paper pack.
I really like this collection and I have certainly gotten a lot of use out of it.
I went with this neutral patterned paper, with pops of teal, from the collection as my background.
I used a light brown ink pad to ink the edges.
In keeping with the sketch, I selected coordinating papers from the collection, to create the backdrop for my photo.
For the floral patterned paper, I cut a 2 x 6" strip, the pink patterned paper is a 5 x 5" square and I added a 1 1/2 x 3 3/4" teal piece tucked under the photo.
I made sure to ink the edges of these papers as well, to soften the colors a bit.
I also added a heart doily to the background for some interest.
I used my ATG to attach all the layers.

For the banner, I cut 3/4 x 1 1/4" triangles using the leftover scarps from this paper pack.
I used some Linen Thread from Stampin Up and some foam tape to attach my banners, to give it a 3D effect.
To finish off the page, I added pearls and roses.

And voila!! layout complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #97!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy T.G.I.F to you all!! I hope your day is off to a good start! I'm back with another great sketch challenge for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
This is Card Sketch #97:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along with us and check out the beautiful cards created by our talented DT members. There are also some great prizes for you to win from our sponsors: Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and Scrap Boutique, $20 voucher.

With that said, let's get on to the card I created based on this sketch.
I went a little outside of my comfort zone for this card but what is crafting without taking risks.
I think it turned out nice in the end, but I'll let you decide.
Here's the pic for you to peruse:

The card base is a standard A2 size; 4 1/4 x 5 1/2", made from a Recollections Cream cardstock.
I took a Creamy Caramel ink pad from Stampin Up and inked around the edges.
I cut a 2 1/2" circle on my Cricut using a blue floral paper, inked the edges and used my ATG to adhere it down.
I used my Fiskars Threading Water punch and two 1/2" strips of cardstock, to create these layered scallops across the circle.
To finish off my card base, I wrapped some Linen Thread from Stampin Up and tied a double bow on the front.

I wanted to add a tag to the front of my card.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to stamp an image first, then watercolor or try my hand at drawing an image to watercolor.
I went with the second option.
I cut a 3 x 5" tag out of some Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper.
I watercolored the entire tag first with a Weathered Wood Distress Marker and dried it with my heat tool.
I drew some flowers and blades of grass in pencil, making sure to keep the pencil outline light.
Once I had the image the way I wanted, I went back in with my Distress Markers to color it in.
I used Victorian Velvet for the flowers and Shabby Shutters for the grass.
I set the tag aside to dry.

Once dry, I then inked the edges with Creamy Caramel, added a few pearls to the flower centers and some linen thread to the top.
I used foam tape to attach my tag to the card front.
Lastly, I added a few blue and pink sequins for some added bling.

For the inside of the card, I stamped a "Thinking of You" sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up and added a few paper strips to the bottom.

                                                            And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Friday and Peace!! :)
