Happy For You Quick and Easy Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "Hump" day to you all!! I'm back with a quick and easy card I created for the Two Paper Divas Design Team.
I used the "Ghosting" technique and some fabulous stamp sets from the Two Paper Divas store.
I have seen this technique before on a few tutorials on the web, but have never tried it myself.
It took me a few tries at this to get everything just right.
Mainly I was experimenting with the ink pad colors and stamp placement.
I'm pleased with the final result and I hope you will be too.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used an A2 size Craft card stock base.
I cut another Craft card stock panel at 4 x 5 1/2" to stamp my florals on.
For the flowers, I used the "Pretty Posies" stamp set from the Two Paper Divas.
This is a great stamp set offering you three different sizes of flowers, which I used for this card.
I stamped each of the flowers in Staz On Cotton White ink.
For this technique to work you need to use an opaque white ink as your base.

I then used a few Stampin Up ink pads in Pink Passion and Marvelous Magenta to stamp my flowers on top of the white.
The result is a nice halo effect.
To fill in the empty spaces around the flowers , I stamped a flourish stamp.
First in Staz On and then in Old Olive from Stampin Up.
I added a few Recollections brads to the centers of the large and medium flowers.
For the smaller ones I opted for pearl centers.

For the sentiment, I used the "Happy Everything" stamp set from the Two Paper Divas.
I stamped it in the same Staz On ink as the flowers.
I then used a scallop punch to punch a decorative border on the panel.
I also added stitching lines, pearls and dots.
With everything complete, it was time to assemble my card.

I adhered a 1 x 5 1/2" strip of patterned paper to the card base.
The patterned paper came from a Recollections 8 x 8" "Garden Florals" paper pad.
Lastly, I attached the completed card panel to the card base using some foam tape.

And ta-da!! Card complete!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!

And as always, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Ooh La La Mixed Media Canvas!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog.
For my project, I created a mixed media canvas featuring the newest image, "Pamela".
This is the second image in Adele's vintage girl digi line.
You can purchase this image from the Jiggery Makery etsy store.
This is a beautiful image, perfect for coloring with any medium or for paper piecing.
For my project, I chose to paper piece the dress and add a few accessories.
All that's left to do now is to hang it in my craft room.
Before I get to ahead of myself, here's the pic for you to check out:

I recycled a 10 3/4 x 13" canvas I had used for another project (which I never got around to finishing).
I removed all the embellishments and painted a few coats of gesso to give me a clean base to build on.
For the background, I went with this vintage light blue print from The Paper Studio "Kirby Teesdale Studio" 12 x 12" pack.
I used some homemade mod podge to adhere it to the canvas, making sure to wrap the paper around the edges.
I then set it aside to dry.
Once dry, I dry brushed some gesso in a few areas to tone down the pattern a bit.
I then stamped a Hampton Art "Graphic 45 Harlequin Text" stamp in dark brown ink.
I added a polka dot pattern on top of the stamped areas using a stencil and some Distress Paint in "Antique Linen".

I ran into a slight problem when adhering the paper, it didn't cover the entire canvas.
To remedy this, I added some lace trim to the top and bottom.
It has three layers of lace in white and blue and adds a shabby chic touch to the canvas.
With the background complete, it was time to add the image and embellishments.

For the image, I printed her out twice at 9", first on white card stock and then onto a sheet of  Recollections "Garden Floral" paper.
I colored the image in using my alcohol markers.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3
Hair- E13, E15, E18

I then fussy cut her out and set her aside to work on her dress.
I shaded in the dress using my C03 and C01 Copic markers, cut it out and adhered it to the image.
To dress it up, I added some seam binding, pearl brad and Eucalyptus Stickles.
For the shoes, I colored them in using a C01 and R20 markers.

I cut a purse out of some floral patterned paper, added some white stitching, handle and pearl brad.
To give the handle the look of leather, I added some Glossy Accents.
To finish her ensemble off, I added a hat with a paper rose embellishment.
With my image complete, I set her aside to work on the rest of the canvas.

Hubby was awesome enough to surprise me last week with a Cricut Explore machine.
I wasted no time cutting up images for this project.
I cut a birdbath with birdie, at 4" in white, from the Cricut Design Space.
I then used my C01, C03, C05 markers to color it in.
I added some dots with my fine tip black and white pens to give it the appearance of stone.

I used my ProMarkers in Tan, Burnt Sienna and Cinnamon for the bird's body.
For the tummy I used my Spectrum Noirs in LY1 and LY2.
I added a few extra details with a white gel pen and fine tip dark brown marker.
Once the birdbath was complete, I adhered it down on the canvas using Tacky glue.

Next it was on to the die cut branches.
I colored them in using my ProMarkers, colored the leaves and glued them onto the background.

I used foam tape to adhere my image and added this die cut Eiffel tower silhouette off in the distance.
With the canvas almost complete, it was time to add my embellishments and title.

I scattered a few paper roses, pearls, and rhinestone flourishes.
For my title, I used some scripty alpha stamps to create the "Ooh La La" and added a  handwritten french phrase below.
The phrase states" Je aime Paris au printemps" which translates into "I love Paris in the Springtime".

And voila!! Canvas complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Sorry for the super lengthy post but I wanted to be sure I didn't miss out on any of the steps.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Thinking of You Card!!

Hey Everyone!! For today's post, I have a card I created for the Kitty Bee Designs blog.
It's for the latest Aloha Friday Challenge going on now through next Friday.
The theme for this challenge is "Favorite Color Combo" and our sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up.
So make sure to head over to the Kitty Bee Designs blog to play along with us.

For my card, I let the finished image dictate the colors I chose.
I went with light blue and purple for my color scheme.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

The card base measures 5 1/2 × 6 3/4".
For the back panel I used a sheet of 6 × 6" purple paper from a DCWV Violet Leaf Stack.
I cut the middle of the paper out and adhered the frame to the card base at an angle.
I then took a ruler and my fine tip black marker and drew some lines around the edges of the card.

For the image, I used this adorable freebie from the All Dressed Up blog, "Abi Ballerina".
I used this image before on a previous card where I used watercolors to color her in.
This time around I opted for using my alcohol markers.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
- Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna
-Tutu, Shoes and Bow- HB1, HB2, HB3

I added some polka dots to her top and bow with my white gel pen.
I used Stickles and Lavender Lace Liquid Pearls to her tutu.
I created a light blue shadow around her using my IB1 Spectrum Noir marker.
I then cut the image panel down to 4 × 5 1/2", drew a frame around the panel, added some polka dots to the background and ground for her to stand on.
I then added some more Stickles on top of the blue dots to add some sparkle.

I backed the image panel on a sheet of scalloped light blue card stock from DCWV and adhered it to the card using foam tape.
To embellish it, I added some paper flowers, white swirls, a resin key, lace and hearts.
For the sentiment, I  stamped "Thinking of You" from the CardzTV stamp set "Encouraging Thoughts" In StazOn ink.
I cut it into a banner shape, adhered it to the card and added some sequins as a final touch.

And voila!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

I will be entering this card into the All Dressed Up "Anything Goes" Challenge #29!

I Love You A Ton Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Tuesday to you all!! I'm back with a project featuring the newest stamps from The Two Paper Divas. I know that Valentine's has come and gone but I wanted to share this card I created for my girls.
I used the "Heart Cookie" stamp from the "Mason Jar Accessories #4" set and some masking to make it.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used white card stock for the base and it measures 4 x 5 1/2".
I cut another piece of white card stock for my main panel and it measures 3 3/4 x 5 1/4".
I then stamped the hearts in Staz On ink.
I used a mask to layer the hearts and give it the appearance of the them spilling out and falling over each other.
To color them in, I used my RV19 and E18 Copic markers.
I then added some shading with my C01 marker along the edges of the hearts.
I then added the "I Love You" sentiment and some sequins.
I used some foam tape to attach this panel to my card base.

And ta-da!! Card Complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!!

Warhol Inspired Pop Art Card!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope your day is off to a great start! For today's post, I have a unique style of card I created for the Jiggery Makery blog.
Adele has been working on some vintage inspired images for the Jiggery Makery Etsy shop and for this project I used the beautiful "Penelope" digi.
I will be featuring another vintage digi on my blog next week, so stay tuned for that.
This card is a lot different color wise, then what I normally do and the inspiration came from hubby's suggestion.

Originally, I wanted to do a series of black and white photos with the image in full color.
When I told hubby of my idea, he suggested I do a pop art theme ala Warhol.
So after researching his pop art prints, I came across his Marilyn Monroe one.
I thought the colors would work with the alcohol markers I had.
So after printing the full image, I went back to crop the image and made a few copies of just her face.
Hubby then worked his computer skills magic to enlarge the images, add texture to the backgrounds and stack them.

In the end, I think the card turned out nice but I'll let you decide that for yourself.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used white card stock for the card base to create an A2 size card.
The pop art panel measures, 3 1/4 x 5 1/4" an I used my alcohol markers to color it in.
I used the Marilyn Monroe print to choose the colors for this image.
Here's a quick rundown:
-Top Left Panel- IB1, Y08, Rambunctious Red, Dusky Pink
-Bottom Left Panel- Fandango Pink, LY2, Blue Skies Blue, Blush
-Top Right Panel- Rambunctious Red, Y08, Summer Melon, IB1, Blue Skies Blue, Blush, R20
-Bottom Right Panel- IB1, Blue Skies Blue, R20, Y08,

I then went in with my fine tip black marker to add shading to the face, hair and neckline.
With the coloring complete, I fussy cut the panel out and backed it on a sheet of black and then white card stocks.
I used my ATG gun to adhere it to the card base.
With the background complete, I set to work on the image.

I printed the full image onto a sheet of white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's the rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin_ Blush, Dusky Pink, R20
-Hair- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon
_-Shoes- C01, C03

For the dress, I used a sheet of Prima, "Something Blue" paper to paper piece the dress onto the image.
I added some shading with my C01 and C03 markers.
I used my white gel pen to emphasize the polka dot pattern and added some lace trim along the bottom.
I used Stickles to add some shimmer to the dress and a pink pearl on the waistline.
I then fussy cut her out and used foam tape to attach her to the card.

And voila!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
This card is the 200th project I have posted on my blog!
I never thought that I would even reach 200 posts, let alone still be at this blogging thing.
I am grateful to my family for putting up with my blogging schedule.
Which involves a lot of late nights.
I am so grateful to be able to share and be inspired by you all and I hope to continue along this path, that has brought me so much joy.
Well with that said, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment, and share my work.
I appreciate each and every one of you.
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

For my card for this challenge, I created my very first St.Patrick's Day card featuring this adorable "Shamrock Bear" from 2 Cute Ink.
They also had a Facebook challenge going on at their 2 Cute Ink fan page, so I will be entering this card into the challenge as well.

Here's the pic of the card I made:

I used Craft card stock for the card base and inked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up.
I cut the card stock @ 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" to create a top folding card.
I cut a piece of  DCWV green patterned paper to 4 x 5 1/4", inked the edges and adhered it to the base.
I wrapped some gold embroidery floss around the card a few times and tied it in a bow.

For the image, I printed the bear on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color him in.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Bear- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon (Spectrum Noir)
-Bow tie and Shamrock- YG03, Forest Green
-Ground- C01, C03

I added some highlights with a white gel pen and Eucalyptus Stickles to the shamrock and bow tie.
I then cut the card stock down to 2 x 3" and used foam tape to attach it to the card.

To finish it off, I added some gold sequins and metallic green shamrocks, that I cut from a sheet of ColorBok metallic card stock.
For the sentiment, I printed out the "Happy St.Patrick's Day", inked it, cut it apart and adhered it to the card.

And ta-da!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!!

The challenge is going on now through February 14th and the rules are pretty simple. With all that said, let's move on to the tag I created for this challenge.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a 3 x 6 1/4" tag for this project.
I covered the tag in this red patterned paper from a ColorBok pack.
I inked the edges using some Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up.
To decorate it and add some interest to the background, I used these Valentine stickers from my stash.
The sentiment "True Love" also came from the sticker set.

Sweet Thank You Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy T.G.I.F to you all!! I'm back with another project for the Two Paper Divas blog.
They are celebrating the February release of 8 new stamp sets!! Each set is filled with awesome images and great sentiments. I was lucky enough to to play with one of their new sets, "Mason Jar Accessories #4".
Let me tell you if your a cookie lover like I am, then this stamp set will not disappoint. There are 5 yummy cookies images for you to stamp and color, plus there's even a sprinkle image to decorate your cookies.
There's also some really sweet sentiments that go along with it, but for me it's all about the cookies. Lol!
I had fun stamping and coloring the cookies I used for this project.
I can tell you now this stamp set will see a lot of use.
Before I get too ahead of myself, here's the yummy pic for you to check out:

I used Craft card stock for the card base and when folded it measures 4 x 5 1/2".
I inked the edges with some Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up.
I stamped the Chocolate Chip cookie image from the stamp set on white card stock.
I used my ProMarkers in Tan and Cinnamon to color them in and added a white highlight to the chips with a gel pen.
I then fussy cut them out and went around the edges with my fine tip marker in Brown.

For the Mason Jar image, I used the "Large Mason Jar" stamp from the Two Paper Divas.
This stamp set is awesome because you can stamp the jar and lid separately.
I used my Spectrum Noir marker in IB1 to go around the edges of the jar.
For the lid, I used my C01, C03, C04 Copic markers to color it in.
I then fussy cut the pieces out and went around the edges with the same fine tip marker.
Once I had all my pieces cut and colored, it was time to put it all together.

I arranged the cookies in the jar and glued them down.
I then added the lid at the top, tied some pink twine in a bow and added a cork tag.
I used foam tape to attach my jar to this circle I cut from some pink patterned paper.
I added some white lace trim along the edge and glued it to the card base.

To finish it off, I tied some more pink twine around the card base, added a few sequins and a banner.
I stamped the sentiment "Thank you for making my life a little sweeter!" from the "Mason Jar Accessories #4" stamp set in Staz On ink.

And voila!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Please make sure to head over to the Two Paper Divas store to check out all the stamp sets being released this month.

All Dressed Up Challenge Guest DT Spot!!

Hey Everyone!! I'm back with a Guest DT project for the All Dressed Up "Anything Goes" Challenge. I was very honored to be asked to be a Guest Designer for this challenge by Anne Lise Johannessen from the ADU blog.
Thank you Anne Lise!! :)
I chose this adorable "Love my IPad" digi for my card, mainly because she reminds me of my 15 year old.
She walks around the house carrying her Kindle Fire, wears glasses and Converses are her fave shoes.
I kept the card design pretty simple but I used a different card base than what I normally use.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

The card measures 4 x 6 1/2".
I used a heavyweight document protector for the card base.
I watched a video on YouTube a few months back where they used a clear card base.
I thought that was a cool idea to try with this card.
I cut the document protector to the size I needed, making sure to leave the stitched line at the top intact.
To add some extra interest to the clear card base I made, I stamped some dots in White and Copper Staz On ink.
I then set it aside to dry to work on the image.

I printed the image out on white card stock.
I used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, Dusky Pink, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon
-Shorts and Bow- IB1, GT1, Oceanview Blue
-Pants and Sleeves- HB1, HB2, HB3
-Jacket and IPad- C01, C03, C05
-Shoes and Headband- C01, C07, C09

I added some Stickles to the heart, leggings and bow.
I then went in with my C01 and C03 markers to create some ground for her to stand on.
I also used my IB1 marker to add a shadow around the image.
With all my coloring done, I trimmed the card stock to 2 1/2 x 5 3/4".
I layered the image panel on black and navy blue card stocks and adhered it to the card base.

To finish the card off, I added some paper roses and a few sequins.

And ta-da!! Card complete!! :)

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Valentine's Day Treat Box!!

Hey  Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to catch the Big Game last night! I'm not much of a football person so I didn't watch. But I was able to watch all the commercials on Hulu this morning, which for me is the best part. This weekend was also a super busy one for me with DT makes and Mardi Gras just around the corner. My daughter's school holds a Mardi Gras parade every year, so for her float I thought a Frozen theme would be nice. And since this is her last year at this school, the pressure is on. I am hoping beyond hope I can pull it off. So I will keep you updated on that and hopefully be able to share some pics of the process along the way.
Well enough about that, let's move on to today's project.
If it's Monday, you know it's time for another Design Team make for the Jiggery Makery blog.
This time I made a Valentine's Heart Shaped Treat box featuring the newest and last of the Valentine's Day digis, Georgia.
Please make sure to head over to the Jiggery Makery Etsy shop if you would like to purchase the image featured.
And Adele is also hosting her first Facebook Challenge over at the Jiggery Makery Facebook page called "Love is Red".
Head over to the Facebook page by clicking the link above to learn more and play along.
Onward to the box I created and here's the pic for you to check out:

The box measures 4 x 4 1/4".
Here's the link where you can find the free template I used: http://www.mias-craft-ideas.com/valentine-box-ideas.html.
I printed the template off on two sheets of Craft card stock.
Using the directions I found online, I was able to create the top and bottom of the box.
I then covered the sides and top of the box, trimming the papers as needed.
I added a white lace trim on the top and bottom and used my hot glue gun to hold it in place.
As a final touch, I hot glued this pearl trim along the top and bottom edges.
And white washed the papers to tone down the colors a bit.

The patterned papers I used came from the "Rosewood" ColorBok pack.

For the top of the box, I added a red heart trimmed with matching lace, white washed it, and added some stamping for texture.
I then set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, Dusky Pink CR3
-Hair- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon
-Shoes, Heart and Bandanna- RV19, E18
-Box- E18, Tan, Cinnamon

I fussy cut her out and used foam tape to adhere to the box.

I added a few embellishments to the front of the box such as red sequins and red paper roses.
I tied some red lace around the box she"s sitting in and added a "For Someone Special" tag along the top.

And voila!! Box complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)
