Altered Box Project!!

Hey everyone, it's Elina here! I'm glad to be back to my blog and crafting after enjoying a memorable Christmas with my family! The girls and I were able to binge watch all our favorite Christmas movies, whip up some yummy goodies, and sing our favorite carols!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas spent with those you love! Well, getting back to today's project, I thought I would try my hand at altering a Pringles can to create a trinket box. There are a ton of great tutorials out there that show you step by step on how to make one for yourself. Since we had an empty can , I thought I would give it a try. I had to adjust the measurements a bit because I only used half of the can, but it was fairly simple to put together.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I cut my Pringles can to about 6" and scored it down the middle to create the hinge.
I cut a sheet of patterned paper from The Paper Studio " Kirby Teesdale," 12" x 12" paper pad and adhered it.
Next I added two layers of lace along the top and bottom, some Recollections flowers, pearls, a metal "Dream" charm, and some wire sprigs.

Afterwards, I added some wooden beads for the feet and dry brushed gesso over the entire surface.
And as a final touch, I brushed on some Diamond Stickles on the flowers to make them sparkle.

And ta-da!! Box complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and as always, peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch challenge #135

Hey everyone, it's Elina here, back with another Card Sketch challenge for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
Here's the pic for Card Sketch #135:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along.
And there is a great prize pack from our sponsor for this challenge: Polkadoodles.

Here's the pic of the card I created based on this sketch:

The card measures 5 1/2" ×5 1/2" made from a sheet of craft card stock.
I adhered a layer of white card stock, cut an 1/8" smaller.
I finished off the card base by adding a blue card stock layer on top of the white.
Next I wrapped some jute twine across the front and tied it in a knot.
I then set aside to work on the image.

For the image, I used my alcohol markers to color it in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Owl- E70, E74, E79, B18, B14, 404
-Outfit- R17, R27, E74, G46, G28, G40, G43, C03, C0
-Ornament- B29, B18, B14, B12, C03, C01
-Background- E97, E99, E29

I added Glossy Accents to the owl's shoes, eyes, and holly berries.
Next I used my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen to add sparkle to the ornament, hat, and coat.
I then trimmed the image panel down to 3" × 3 3/4".
Afterwards, I added more white and blue card stock layers behind the image.

As a final touch, I added a few snowflakes, pearls, and the sentiment, "Merry Christmas", cut into a banner shape.

And voila!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day, and as always, peace!! :)

"Joy" Wall Hanging featuring "Percy and Lilly"!!

Hey everyone, it's Elina here with a Design Team project for the Jiggery Makery blog. I decided to make a holiday wall hanging featuring my fave penguins, "Percy and Lilly". This time around I used all three of the adorable images that Adele offers in her shop to create a custom wall hanging that pairs well with my holiday decor.
Make sure to check out Adele's Etsy shop if you would like to purchase the images featured in today's project.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

To start this project off, I first, cut a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" squares from some leftover card board in my stash.
I then used my Cricut Explore machine to die cut some matching squares out of some Neenah, "White Gold" card stock and adhered them to the cardboard base.
Next, I die cut letters to spell out the word "Joy," using dark and light blue card stocks.
I layered the two letters together to create a shadow effect before attaching them to the card board base.
now that my bases were finished, I set these aside to work on my penguin images.

I used my alcohol markers to color them in and here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Bodies- C05, C06, C07, C01
-Beaks- 404, Spice
-Santa Hats and Scarf- R17, R27, E74

I added some Glossy Accents to their feet and beaks and some Diamond Stickles to Lilly's pearls.
Then I fussy cut them out, and used pop dots to adhere them to the squares.

I wanted to add a few extra details to each card board square so I stamped a few stockings, wreaths and candles using a Recollections stamp set, and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I colored them in using my B12, B14, G46, G28, C02, and C03 Copic markers.
Next I fussy cut each of the stamped images and arranged them on the squares before attaching them.
Along the top I added a few strands of some red and white baker's twine to tie in the hats and scarf of the penguins.
As a final touch, I punched out a few small snowflakes using my EK Success punch and added some light blue sequins.

Finally, I aligned my squares, making sure to leave about an 1 1/2" of space between them.
I turned them over and added hot glue to the backs of them so I could attach my Stampin Up White Organdy Ribbon.
I then tied it off at the top creating a bow .

                                                     And Voila!! Wall hanging complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your evening and, as always, peace!! :)

Quick and Easy Holiday Tags!!

Hey everyone, happy Sunday to you all!! For today's post, I'm featuring some tags I created using stamp sets from the Two Paper Divas line. I wanted to make some unique, one of a kind tags for my holiday packaging. I love creating chalkboard inspired looks, so I used that as inspiration for my tag design.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

The tags were cut from a sheet of black card stock, using my Cricut Explore at 5".
I used my hole punch to punch a hole along the top.
I threaded some baker's twine from Martha Stewart through the hole and tied it off.

For the first set of tags, I stamped the "Snowman" image and the sentiment "Holiday Wishes" from the Truffle Treats set in VersaMark ink.
Next I sprinkled some Recollections "Snow," embossing powder and heat set it.
I used my Stampin Up Pigment White ink pad to add some shading along the edges.
I added some dash lines and snow flakes using my Gelly Roll white gel pen.

For the second set of tags, I stamped the "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" from the Merry Little Christmas stamp set.
I followed the same steps as above to create these tags.

As an added touch, I used my ink blender tool to add some pigment ink over the images and sentiments.
I think it gives it that authentic chalkboard look.

And ta-da!! Tags complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
