Love With Your Heart Tag!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "Hump" to you all!! I hope your day is off to an awesome start! I'm back with another Valentine's Day project, this time as part of the Two Paper Divas Design Team.
This tag was easy to make and all the supplies (except for the lace) I used came from the yummy DT package I received from Gayla and Melissa in December.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a 3 1/4 x 6 1/4" manila tag.
I cut a piece of black and white polka dot paper, inked the edges with grey ink, and adhered it along the top of the tag.
I then layered a piece of pink patterned paper along the bottom.
I took a piece of blue floral paper and punched a scallop edge using my Fiskars "Threading Water" punch.
I adhered it to the sides of the tag using my ATG gun.

For the birds and watering can, I used the Seed Packet Accessories #1 stamp set.
I first stamped the birds on the tag and then on some patterned paper.
I cut them out, paper pieced them and adhered them to the tag.

To get a mirror image, so that the birds face each other, I learned a cool trick from the Ellen Hutson YouTube channel.
Ink your stamp and stamp it on a solid stamp, I used a circle stamp for this trick.
Then you stamp it on your patterned paper.
FYI: The image will be lighter than the original, but you can darken the lines using a black marker.
And then you have a mirror image of the original.

For the watering can, I stamped it on a piece of adhesive foil paper and fussy cut it out.
I added blue patterned paper and a bow to dress it up a bit.
I then removed the backing and attached it to the tag.

To finish the tag off, I added two layers of lace trim along the bottom.
I wrapped some pink embroidery floss and tied it in a bow.
I punched out some hearts from pink patterned paper and used pop dots to adhere them.
For the sentiment, I used the "Love with your Heart" stamp, inked only the top portion and stamped it on white card stock.
I then cut the words apart, inked the edges with grey ink and attached them to the tag.
As a final touch, I added a few silver sequins.

And ta-da!! Tag complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Be Mine Valentine's Day Card!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another project for the Jiggery Makery blog! The project I'm featuring today is a Valentine's Day card I made using the newest digi from the Jiggery Makery Etsy Shop, "Rita".
I have been on such a Valentine's Day kick, lately.
So I can't guarantee that this will be the last one. Lol!
Let's move on, to the card I created with this image.
I did keep the design pretty simple and the embellishments I kept to a minimum.
And as always, make sure to click the etsy store link above, if you would like to purchase the image featured.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used white card stock for the card base and when folded it measures, 4 3/4 x 5 3/4".
I added a black card stock panel cut a 1/4" smaller than the base.
I then layered a sheet of The Paper Studio grey patterned paper on top, cut a 1/4" smaller than the black card stock.
With the card base complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image out on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
After I printed the image and before I colored her in, I altered the digi a little.
I drew some scallops on top of the brassiere, added a V shape down the center of the corset, laces and a bow.
Here's a quick rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, Dusky Pink
-Hair- Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna, Spice
-Corset and Shoes- RV19, Woodsy Brown, C03, C06, C09

As with last week's image, I used vellum to mimic stockings and added lace to the top.
I then paper pieced the cushion she's on using a sheet of Anna Griffin patterned paper.
I fussy cut her out and went around the edges using my brush tip marker.
I added a strip of dark grey crochet lace behind the entire piece and used foam tape to attach her to the card front.

To finish the card off, I used a few rhinestones and a ticket I cut from white card stock and stamped  the 'Be Mine"sentiment with Staz On ink.

And ta-da!! Card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

U + Me Valentine's Day Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Saturday to you all!! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I'm back with my first DT project of 2015 for the Kitty Bee Designs blog.
The card I'm featuring is part of their Aloha Friday "Scraps" Challenge,  which is going on now through January 29th.
So make sure to head over to KBD blog to play along and for a chance to win a great prize pack from our sponsor for this challenge, Doodle Pantry .
With that said, here's the pic of a Valentine's Day card I made for you to check out:

The inspiration for this card design came Nichol Magouirk's You Tube channel.
In the video, she used vellum and a die cut phrase to make a shaker card.
I cased a few of the elements from her card to create the one you see above.
Here's a quick rundown of how I made it:

For the card base, I used a sheet of white card stock, when folded it measures 4 1/4 x 5 3/4".
I cut a sheet of vellum at 3 3/4 x 5 3/4" and adhered it to the card base.
I then cut a piece of pink card stock to the same size of the vellum.
I stamped the background with a flourish stamp and Pixie Pink ink from Stampin Up.
I then took my ruler and measured about an 1" up from the bottom and 3 3/4" down from the top to mark out a space for my sentiment.
I drew out the "U+Me" onto the pink card stock and partially cut it out.

This was the tricky part of the process.
I had to redraw the letters a few times to get the spacing just right.

With the sentiment complete, I set to work on the shaker part of the card.

In Nichol's video, she added a another piece of vellum she stitched closed to house the shaker elements.
I took a different route, I punched out a few hearts and glued them to the vellum.
I then added a 3" piece of vellum on top to cover the hearts.
So it gives the look of a shaker without the worry of anything falling out.
I then used my ATG gun to attach the pink card stock to the vellum.

I turned my attention to the cute "Best Friends Bun" digi.
I used my C00, C01 and C03 Copic markers to color the bunnies in.
I used an RV19 and a HB1 marker for the bow and heart.
I fussy cut them out and added them to a small hill that I drew.
I used my ATG gun to attach to the card, placing them above the sentiment.

Lastly, I added a few punched out hearts and added Stickles to them.
I then stamped this "Happily Ever After" sentiment from an Inkadinkado Wedding Stamp set  in Staz On ink.

And voila!! Card Complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend, and Peace!! :)

SteamPunk Inspired Mixed Media Box!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy "Hump" day to you all!! I hope your Wednesday is off to a good start! For today's post, I have a papier mache box that I altered to create a SteamPunk inspired project.
The idea behind this box came from a wonderful YouTuber, whose channel I subscribe to, Gabrielle Pollacco.
She specializes in mixed media layouts, cards, canvases and home decor projects.
I find her channel to be a great source of inspiration and I like being able to recreate the projects she creates using materials in my stash.
And this SteamPunk box is no exception.
I will leave a link to her channel and blog at the bottom of this post, so you can check her out for yourself.

Here's the pic of the box I made for you to check out:

The box I used measures 3 x 6".
I used a stencil and texture paste to add this heart design to the top and sides.
And for the "Love" sentiment as well.
I then covered the box with a few coats of gesso and set it aside to dry.
I then tore some card stock and adhered it to the box.
I also added some lace I had along the top and bottom.
For the bouquet on the top, I just glued down a few paper roses and added some leaves and pearls.
Once I had everything attached, I went back in with my gesso to add a coat to each element.

To add some color to the box, I used a few color sprays I had in Blue, Pink, Gold, and Black.
I also made sure to add color to the flowers as well.

I then set the box aside to dry.

To finish it off, I added some black paint splatters and some text stamping.
I used some gold paint on the flowers, pearls and raised areas.
I added gears, rhinestones and a compass rose medallion for emebellishments.

And ta-da!! Box complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Jiggery Makery Monday Post featuring the "Stacey" Digi!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another post for the Jiggery Makery Design Team.
This time around instead of creating a project featuring the newest digital image, "Stacey", I chose to focus on the image itself.
I wanted to share with you the techniques I used to bring her to life.

Adele offers a variety of these gorgeous pin up inspired images in her etsy store.
They are all beautiful and unique in their own way, plus they are all hand drawn by Adele.
So make sure to stop by the Jiggery Makery etsy store to check them out.

For this newest digi, I did a little research on Pinterest beforehand.
I looked up vintage pin up girl images to see how they were colored in.
I wanted to try a different color combo and adding darker shadows to the skin.
I like how the image turned out in the end but I'll let you decide that for yourself.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

For her skin, I started off using the darkest color, Dusky Pink ProMarker, first.
I usually do the opposite, light to dark.
This time around I wanted to preserve the shadows, so I used the Dusky Pink to outline and fill some of the areas of her skin.
I then went in with my FS1 Spectrum Noir marker to blend out the shadows and fill the image in.
If an area was too light, I would go back in with my darker shade to reapply color to those areas.
I used my CR3 Spectrum Noir marker to add some color to her cheeks and my YR03 Copic marker for her eyes.
Once I had the skin looking the way I wanted, I turned my attention to the hair.

I used the same color combo that I use on all the images I color.
For the highlights, I use my Tan Spectrum Noir marker.
I just add this lightest color to the areas I feel the light would be hitting.
For the medium shade, I turn to my Cinnamon Spectrum Noir marker.
I usually fill in the hair with this color, just stopping short of the highlights I've added.
For my darker shade, I use my Burnt Sienna Spectrum Noir marker.
I try to concentrate this color towards the bottom but I do use it along the sections of hair.
After I have my dark color added, I go back in with the medium shade to blend it out towards the center.
And finally, I use the lightest shade to blend it a little more and to soften any harsh lines.
With the skin and hair filled in, it was time to work on her outfit.

After viewing the images on Pinterest, I saw that the black was the most common color used.
So I turned to my C0 Copic markers to fill in the bra and undies.
I used a color combo of C03, C06 and C09.
I wanted to add some extra detail to the undies and the easiest way I found to do this is to add some lace trim.
I cut a few pieces of black lace trim I had and used my Tacky glue to adhere them in place.
You could certainly color in the trim using your alcohol markers.
But I like the look and texture that the lace adds to the image.
With her outfit complete, it was time to work on the stockings and robe.

Now here is where the process becomes a bit tedious.
You certainly don't have to follow the steps I used, you can use whatever techniques or materials you have available.
I wanted to experiment with different materials to bring this image to life.
First step is the stockings.
Going back to the images I researched, light grey stockings was a recurrent theme.
Now how to recreate that sheer look that stockings give without using my alcohol markers.
The answer: Vellum.
I water colored a small area using a grey water color marker.
I tried using my C03 marker for this technique but I didn't like the way the vellum looked after it was dry.
Water coloring produced the soft effect I was going for.
Once the vellum was filled in and dry, I placed it over the image, colored side down, and lightly traced over the legs.
I then darkened the lines with a fine tip black marker and fussy cut them out.
I then added some lace trim along the top and adhered it to the legs, placing the glue along the lace.

I like how the vellum mimics the look and appearance of a real stockings.
And for the garters, I used my C0 Copic markers to color them in.

I used the same techniques, described above to create the robe.
I water colored the vellum, traced out the robe sections, cut it out and added the trim.
But instead of using lace, I used a few layers of Chinese braid in black and just glued the trim around the curves of the image.
As a final touch, I die cut a heart from some pink glitter paper and adhered it down.

And ta-da!! Girl complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!
I apologize for the lengthy post but I wanted to make sure I didn't leave any steps out.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Get Well Soon Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Thursday to you all! I'm so glad that the weekend is almost here! WooHoo! I have been coloring up a storm this week and my hands need a rest. So stay tuned I'll be sharing some of the projects I have been working on next week. But for today's post, I'll be a sharing a card I created for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
It's that time again for another great Card Sketch challenge.
Here's the pic of Card Sketch #113:

This challenge is up and running on the Feeling Sketchy blog til January 31st.
Our sponsor for this challenge: Karleigh Sue Digis by Cheri Shull, is offering your choice of 4 digis.
So make sure to stop by and play along.
With that said, let's move on to today's project.

I used the above sketch to create a "Get Well Soon" card for a friend of mine, who recently had surgery.
I kept the design pretty simple and used a cute stamp from The Greeting Farm as my main focal point.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

The card base is made from a sheet of white card stock measuring, 4 x 5 1/4".
I added a 1' strip of burgundy patterned paper, backed it on a strip of black card stock and adhered it to the card base.
I added another 1" strip to layer on top using a strip of grey card stock backed on black.
With the card base complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

For the image, I used this cute "Nurse Anya" stamp from The Greeting Farm.
I thought this would be the perfect image for my card.
I used my alcohol markers to color her in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, Dusky Pink, CR3
-Hair- Tan, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna
-Uniform- C00, C01, C03
-Shoes- C07, C09
-Cross- RV19

I used my Cool Grey Copics and IB1 Spectrum Noir markers for the shadows and background.
I cut the card panel down to 3 x 3 1/4", backed it on black card stock, rounded the edges and used foam tape to add it to the card.

To finish the card off, I added some paper flowers, sequins and Stickles.
The sentiment "Get Well Soon" came from the "Banners 1" stamp set from Two Paper Divas.
I stamped it out on a 1" strip of white card stock cut into a banner shape.
I used foam tape to attach it to the card.

And voila!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

"Princess" Birthday Card!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another project for the Jiggery Makery Design Team. For this post, I created a birthday card featuring the newest digital image from the Jiggery Makery etsy store titled, "Princess".
This is a new style of digi that Adele has created and she is offering it in her shop for a limited time.
The image is very detailed and wonderful to color in using any medium you see fit.
So make sure to click the store link above to learn more.
With that said, let's move on to today's project:

Here's the pic for you to check out:

For this card, I used white card stock measuring 4 × 5 3/4".
I cut down a sheet of black card stock to 3 7/8 × 5 3/4"and adhered to the card base.
I used a 6×6" dark blue card stock from a ColorBok stack as my main card panel.
I cut it down to 3 3/4 ×5 3/4", distressed the edges and inked them using a white pigment ink.
I then stamped the background using an ivy stamp and VersaMark ink to give it a slight pattern.
After all the stamping was complete, I set aside to work on the image.

I printed the image out on white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color her in.
I used a combo of Copics, Bics, Spectrum Noirs and ProMarkers.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- FS1, Dusky Pink
-Hair- Tan, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna
-Dress- Oceanview Blue, IB1, GT1, HB1, HB2, HB3, C01

I added some "Lavender Lace" Liquid Pearls, and Stickles to embellish the dress.
I then fussy cut her out and went around the edges using my brush tip marker.
With the image complete, it was time to add the embellishments and put the card together.

For the card panel, I added two layers of lace and some Chinese braid trim in black towards the bottom.
I then used my ATG gun to adhere it to the card base.
I added a paper doily, cut in half, paper roses, sequins, pearls and butterflies.

The sentiment "Birthday Princess" was made using a metal banner from a bottle cap charm and a card stock banner I created.
Lastly, I added more lace underneath the metal banner and Stickles to the flowers.

  And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Some Exciting News and a Quick Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Saturday to you all!! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today's post will be a quick one so I'll try not to ramble on too much. Let's begin with the exciting news I wanted to share.
I have been selected to be a part of the Two Paper Divas Design Team! They are an up and coming company offering a wonderful selection of high quality photo polymer stamps, as well as, digital stamps.
The stamp sets in their shop offer some great images with an array of sentiments to suit your needs.
They are celebrating the release of their newest stamp sets for the month of January, so make sure to click the Two Paper Divas name at the top to visit their shop and learn more.

As a part of the team, I received a wonderful DT package back in December from Gayla and Melissa.
It was filled with lots of goodies including a few of their top selling stamp sets.
The card I'm featuring today was made using the supplies I received, as well as, a few things from my stash.
Here's the pic for your perusing pleasure:

I used the Craft card stock and patterned paper pad that were included with my package and inked around the edges.
The card base is a standard A2 size, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".
I used this yellow patterned paper as the main card panel and cut it @ 3 3/4 x 5 1/2".
I also inked the edges and adhered it to the base using my ATG gun.
I added some ribbon and a button along the bottom.
For the images, I used the "Seed Packet" stamp set for the seed packet and banners.
I stamped it on white card stock, colored it using my Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out.
For the flowers, I stamped the flowers on the patterned paper and then again on white card stock.
I colored in the flowers and leaves, cut it out and paper pieced them onto the stamped image.
I created a shaker using the seed packet, some acetate and seed beads.

For the bird, I used the "Seed Packet Accessories #1" stamp set, paper pieced him and added him to the card front.
I added the "Thinking Of You" sentiment from the "Banners #1" stamp set and a few sequins to finish off the card.

And voila!! card complete!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today.
I had fun creating this quick and simple card to share with you all.

Valentine's Day Mixed Media Canvas!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I'm back with my first project of 2015 for the Jiggery Makery Design Team.
I created a mixed media canvas featuring the newest image "Lucy" from the Jiggery Makery etsy store. So make sure to click on the link above if you would like to purchase the image featured in today's project.

Here's the pic for you to check out:

I used a 5 7/8 x 5 7/8" square canvas board.
I primed it with a few coats of gesso to cover up a painting project I never finished.
I let it dry in between coats and then used some homemade sprays in the colors black, gold and pink over the top.
I used my heat tool to dry it and get the paint moving around a bit.
I then mod podged some white tissue paper,  that I had stamped in a few spots, to add some texture.
To add a little more interest to the background, I applied some temporary tattoos my daughter had.
I had been meaning to throw them out but never got around to it.
The tattoos have some cool punk rock designs and I thought it was a nice addition to this piece.
Once I had background complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

I printed the image on a sheet of white card stock.
I colored her in using my Copics and ProMarkers.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, Tan
-Hair - C05, C07, C09
-Hearts and Underwear- RV14, RV19
-Shoes- C05, C07, C09

I added a few streaks of pink to the hair using my RV markers.
I applied a few of the smaller tattoos to her going up the side and on her forearm.
I added some bling to the heart garland and underwear with Stickles.
I fussy cut her out and went around the edges using my brush tip marker.
I decided to add some angel wings behind her, so I made them out of Tim Holtz Grunge Paper.
I drew out the shape, cut it out and layered a few extra" feathers" for added texture and dimension.
I then painted over the wings with a few coats of gesso and brushed some MicroPearl pigment powder over the top.
I glued them down on the background and then added the image on top using foam tape.
With the image complete, I set it aside to gather the rest of the materials I needed.

In the upper left corner, I added a Grunge Paper key I made.
I used glue dots to add a few links of chain behind the key.
At the ends, I glued down some black card stock hearts.
I wrote the "I ♡ U" sentiment on the hearts using a pink gel pen.
I added foam tape to the key and hearts to adhere them to the canvas.

On the other side, I adhered a length of chain that I twisted into a flourish shape.
I added a heart charm at the top, paper roses and a bottle cap charm along the bottom.
I also added a few tattoo roses and filled them in using the same pink gel pen.

To finish the canvas off, I created a faux metal heart out of Grunge Paper and foil.
I drew out the heart shape onto a sheet of adhesive foil paper, cut it out and adhered it to the Grunge Paper.
To give it a more realistic look, I traced around the heart, used a stylus to give the edge a hammered look,  and sponged on black paint to tone down the shine.
I stamped the "B Mine" sentiment across the front and added a few pink highlights to the letters.

And voila! canvas complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

Be Mine Valentine's Day Shaker Card!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy 2015 to you all!! I hope you had an awesome New Year's Eve!! What better way to jump start this year than with a great Card Sketch challenge from the Feeling Sketchy blog.
There are a few new changes to our challenges this year, so make sure to stop by the blog for more details.
While there make sure to check out the awesome projects created by the DT members and link up your projects to be eligible to win an awesome prize from our sponsor, Scrapbook Circle.
With that said, let's move on to the Card Sketch.

This is Card Sketch #112:

This challenge is up and running now on the Feeling Sketchy blog til January 14th.

Here's the pic of the card I created based on this sketch:

The card base measures 4 3/4 x 5 1/2" and is made from a sheet of textured white card stock.
I stamped the word "Love" in Positively Pink from Stampin Up to create a background pattern on the card stock.
With the card base complete, I set it aside to work on the image.

For the image, I chose this adorable one from The Greeting Farm, 50's SweetHeart digi stamp.
I used my Copics, Bics and Pro Markers to color them in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- Blush, Dusky Pink, Tan, R20
-Hair- Tan, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon
-Dress and Bow- RV14, RV19
-Shirt, Pants and Jacket- C01, C03, C05, Oceanview Blue, Blue Skies Blue, Deep Sea Blue
-Shoes- C07, C09
-Heart- RV14, RV19

I used Stickles to add some shimmer to her bow and dress.
I fussy cut them out and went around the edges with my Micron Pigma Brush marker.
With the image colored, I set it aside to work on the shaker element.

I knew I wanted to create a shaker card featuring this adorable couple.
The problem: I don't own any of the stackable shapes dies, such as squares and circles, to make the process easier.
What to do when you have a particular card design in mind but don't own the tools to make it.
You go to the next best thing, you can use stencils, your die cutting machine, or find it online.
I chose to use a compass to create this frame for my shaker.
I traced out a 4" circle on white card stock and then went in a 1/4" from the inside to trace out the opening.
I then fussy cut the circle out and used my craft knife to cut the interior.
And with that, I had the frame for my shaker complete.
I colored the circle using my RV14 and RV19 Copic markers.
I stamped a tiny heart along the frame using a white pigment ink.
I cut a piece of acetate and glued it to the frame.
I used a StazOn Cotton White ink to stamp the "Be Mine" and hearts on the front of the acetate.
Now all that was left to do was to put all the elements together.

I first placed the frame down on the card stock and marked the areas that would be visible.
I then colored in the background using my Spectrom Noir marker in IB1, which is a nice pale blue color.
I stamped a few hearts in Blissful Blue ink from Stampin Up and colored in the ground using my C01 and C03 markers.
I adhered the couple to the background, added sequins, and glitter hearts to the middle.
I added the shaker frame to the card using two layers of foam tape.

Quick Tip: If you are experiencing trouble with your sequins sticking to the edge of the frame, use your powder tool to remove the stickiness.
This was a great tip I found on K.Werner's YouTube channel.

To finish off the card, I added a few more sequins.

And voila!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this first project of 2015!!
Thanks for atopping by, enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)

I have entered this card into the Crafty Catz Anything Goes Challenge.
