Cute Halloween Treat Tags!!

Hey Everyone! ! Happy Halloween to you all!! I hope your Halloween is off to a spooky start.  For today's post, I have a project I created for the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday "Halloween" Challenge. This challenge is up and running now through November 7th.
So make sure to stop by the Kitty Bee Designs blog to play along.

For my project, I made some Cute Halloween Treat Tags using the adorable "Owl Witch" digi stamp.
You can purchase this digi stamp through the Kitty Bee Designs Etsy Shop.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

To begin, I used some 3 1/4 x 5" tags and covered the front of them with black card stock.
I layered a piece of purple card stock on top and used a Halloween sentiment stamp to create a custom background.
I cut a piece of black card stock at 2 3/4 x 3 1/4",  used a border punch for the top and attached it to the tag to make a pocket.
I then added some dash lines with my white gel pen.

I printed the image off on a sheet of white card stock and used my Copics and Bic MarkIt markers to color it in.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:

- Body: E15, E18, C03
- Beak and Hat Brim: Summer Melon, YR04
- Hat: C05, C07
- Broom: Yellow Blaze, E13, Honey Brown, E18

I added a few highlights with my white gel pen.
I cut the images out and added them to the pockets.

To finish the tag off, I added a pumpkin that I stamped and colored, a few sequins and some orange embroidery floss tied in a knot.
All that was left to do now was to add the treats.

And ta-da!! treat tags complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Halloween and Peace!! :)

Feeling Sketchy Card Sketch #106!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Thursday to you all!! I'm back with another great Card Sketch Challenge from the Feeling Sketchy blog.
Here's Card Sketch #106:

Make sure to head over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to play along and check out the wonderful cards created by the DT members.
There's some great prizes for you to win from our sponsors: Molossi, $30 Chipboard and Bling Pack and Aurora Wings, $10 Prize Pack of Digi Stamps.
Aurora Wings so gracioiusly gave the DT members some of their beautiful digi stamps to use on their cards.
The image I chose to work with for my project is called "Masquerade".

And without further delay, here's the pic of the card I created:

The card base is a sheet of Kraft card stock measuring 4 1/2 x 7 1/2", when folded.
I went around the edges with a grey ink and added a pink card panel on top, measuring 4 1/4 x 7 1/4".
With the card base complete, I set to work on the image.

I printed the image onto a sheet of watercolor paper.
I used my watercolor markers from Recollections and Tim Holtz to color it in.
Here is a rundown of the colors I used:

- Skin: Distress Marker in Tattered Rose, Light Pink
- Eyes and Lips: Distress Marker in Shabby Shutters, Brown, Light Pink, Mid Pink
- Hair: Recollections in Brown, Dark Brown
- Mask: Light Pink, Mid Pink
- Feathers: Dusty Purple, Seafoam, Light Blue
- Roses: Distress Marker in Victorian Velvet

To add a little more dimension to the image, I used some Liquid Pearls in Bisque and Lavender Lace to fill in the dots on the mask and around the face.
Once I had the image complete, I cut it down to 4 1/8 x 7 1/8", inked the edges in grey and used foam tape to adhere it to the card base.

For the embellishments, I added some paper roses, a few resin pieces that I sponged in silver and some Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon.
To finish off the card, I cut a 1 1/2" banner from white card stock, stamped the sentiment "Thanks" and adhered it to the card.
I also added a few sequins here and there.

And ta-da!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Thursday and Peace!! :)

I will be entering this card into the Aurora Wings "Heartfelt" Challenge.

Tess the Witch Mixed Media Canvas!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm back with another project for the Jiggery Makery Blog.
This time around I created a mixed media canvas featuring the beautiful "Tess The Witch" digital stamp.
You can purchase this image through the Jiggery Makery etsy shop.
For this project, I had the idea of creating a vintage newspaper clipping.
I know there are 12 x 12 papers you can purchase with this kind of vintage print, but I don't own any.
So I turned to the next best thing: my stamps and plain 12 x 12 papers.
So with stamps and papers in hand, I set to work on creating a one of kind vintage inspired clipping.
Here's the pic for you to check out:

To begin, I used an 8 x 10" canvas.
I painted a layer of gesso over the top and set it aside to dry.
For my papers, I wanted to give them an aged look, so I soaked them in a bit of coffee.
I then placed them on a tray to dry.
Once dry, I distressed, inked the edges and used mod podge to adhere it to the canvas.
I then set it aside to work on the image.

For the image, I used my Copics to color her in various shades of brown.
Here's a rundown of the colors I used:
-Skin- E11, E13
- Hair- E13, E15, E18
- Dress, Hat, Shoes- E15, E18
- Broom- E13, E15

I used a Pigma Micron Pen to create the look of fishnet stockings.
Once I had the image colored in, I cut her out and mod podged her onto the canvas.

With the image placed, I used a pencil and ruler to map out the sections for the stamps.
I stamped a few vintage text stamps from a Recollections set in light brown ink.
I then darkened the lines, I had previously drawn, with a brush tip and fine tip Pigma pens.
For the "Tess The Witch" ad, I used a variety of alphabet and number stamps.
I then brushed on some gesso to give it that aged appearance.

With the background complete, all that was left to do was to add embellishments.
In the lower left hand corner, I added some paper roses, Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon, clay potion bottles, resin pieces and wings.
In the upper right corner, I added a resin frame, paper roses and a key.
To finish the canvas off, I placed a few pearls, sequins and swirls.

And voila!! project complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and Peace!! :)

Creepy Doll Makeover!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all are having a very relaxing Sunday!! For today's post, I'm showcasing a project I did with my girls. It's definitely out of the box, creepy and just perfect to adorn our porch for Halloween.
The best part was being able to create this with my girls.
We definitely wanted to go with a creepier theme for our decorations this year, usually we do the cutesy stuff.
But with a tennage daughter, I thought changing this year's theme would get her interested and involved.
So, I took a Baby Alive doll, that belonged to my youngest, and with some gesso and paint, we created a one of a kind design piece.
Here is the before pic of the doll:

Here's the After pic:

We purchased this doll for my daughter from a local yard sale, so she was already looking a little rough around the edges.
We painted the arms, face, and legs with gesso.
I took some grey paint, watered it down and sponged it on the doll.
I also spoinged on some paint underneath the eyes and around the hairline.
We then took some red paint mixed with a little brown, and added tears to the doll's face.
My oldest daughter painted in the lips and sponged the tips of the hands and feet.
My youngest daughter cut up and tore an old baby doll dress she had.
I took the dress outside and literally dragged it through the dirt to give that aged look.

To finish off the doll, I painted the entire surface of the eyes with gesso.
I then blacked out them using some black acrylic paint.
I took some green hair chalk and added it to the doll's hair.
And lastly, a few coats with a clear sealer to protect the paint from the elements.

And ta-da!! creepy doll complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Sunday and Peace!! :)

Party Time Tuesdays Anything Goes Challenge #186!!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Tuesday to you all!! I hope your morning is off to a great start! I'm back with another challenge for the Party Time Tuesdays blog.
This week's challenge is "Anything Goes.
Make sure to head over to the PTT blog, link up and check out the awesome projects created by the DT members.
There is a great prize pack for you to win from our sponsor: Really Reasonable Ribbon.

For my project, I created a mixed media layout based on the September Sketch from the Dusty Attic blog.
Here's the pic of the sketch:

And here's the pic of my LO:

For this page, I used an 11 1/2 x 11 1/2" pink patterned paper from ColorBok.
I distressed and inked the edges in a light brown ink.
I added a darker pink paper strip, cut a 6 x 11" to the middle.
I distressed, inked the edges, and used a text stamp to create a subtle pattern.
I used a paper heart doily and gesso to add some texture to the background.
And to add more texture, I used a variety of clear stamps, yellow shimmer mist, pink waffle paper and lace.

For the photo, I used foam tape to mount it on the page and added a piece of cheescloth behind it.
I took different sizes of paper roses, whitewashed them, and added color using the yellow shimmer mist.
I then arranged my flowers along the lower left corner of the photo, added some leaves and a twine bow.
For the sentiment, "You and Me", I used a chipboard sticker form an Anna Griffin set.
I also added the date along the top using a clear stamp.
With my photo and sentiment on the page, all that was left to do now was to add the embellishments.

In the corners, I adhered these vintage rose cameos I made and some sequins.
I added this butterfly and some resin heart buttons.
And to finish the page off, I used my Liquid Pearls in "Bisque" to add some swirls.

And voila!! layout complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and Peace!! :)

Meghan chose DIY Laundry Room Shelf from Latte Everyday. "This is an excellent idea for a wasted space above the washer and dryer. When we were looking at model homes at different communities, the laundry room was always immaculately staged. I always said I wanted my laundry room to look like one of those rooms, but who has the time and money to fix a laundry room up? Especially since it is a room that isn't used by anyone other than myself. I love this idea for storage and even decor. I am definitely going to be doing this!"

Bernadyn chose Deciding What to Keep and What to Let Go from Normal Everyday Life. "I chose this because it made me realize that one day, my kids will also stop playing with toys in the tub and I'll actually be sad when there are not toys cluttering every space of the house! This was a bittersweet post that you can relate to as a parent. It makes me want to cherish these crazy, messy years with my two little ones even more."

Dorothy chose Random Parenting Fails, 2nd Edition from Ripped Jeans & Bifocals. "Every parent has small, random fails or even white lies that make them feel guilty, so it's always nice to be reassured that there are other parents making mistakes too :) This post was short and cute. I loved it."
